Another shop bites the dust...

Why do they not reduce the rates ? Every other industry is affected by supply and demand, so if the demand is low the shop rents should go down. Simple economics.

Small business rate reductions are covered by the Scottish Government.... If a business cannot operate "bricks and mortar" with these allowances, then they can never operate in the real world.... Online is the way to go :)

european commision decided a long time ago....that city/town centers are dangerous and that the pollution has devistaning impact on the nations health/less productivity!

lesser shops = lesser traffic

lesser traffic in the towns = lesser mortal accidents and lesser pollution

bet you that yous have like here lots of mini roundabouts?

controls the speed = less deaths and injuries

why would mother care pay what ever the rates in evry fuquing town when the clients can google it on the net and order and recieve by dispatch from a depot based some where in the outer skirts on towns and at a lot less cost ?

the problem is not the closing of shops but your own insecurity of the present and future

you look back to the past for recomfort,it reassures you

the future is forward and never back wards

will come the day when petrol stations will be bannished from cities

will come the day smoking will be totally banned

some pubs will remain but most will shut

and why do you regret the closing of the shops? does it concern you? are you poorer? are you richer? nae and aye are the reponses

can understand your inquetude for the most part ( younger ones no

yous are at a certain age and nearer your grave...and thats a fact

will come a day society will abolish cemetrys ( waste of fuquing space and real estate...how many lodgements could be built in Perths cemetry? multiply that by the cemetries the world/continent/country/shire/town/villages over

come a day Murray royal will be at full capacity and will need to be extended

how many was the population in 1939 before the war

how many is the population now

we need houses not shops

we need leaders

commercants and their staff are just another job...why should they have all the sympathy?

shops are final result of the pollution we produce

you are a slave to the consummation american way society that has become our planet

you dinnae give a fuque then neither do i, so close this fuquing thread just like its a shop

a dude talking nae sense to qualified middle class ****s

FUQUE YOU

DVD rental is going down the pan. You can download them straight to you tv with little effort. Drive thru is mostly sunbeds now. Seem to do more business with them than with rentals.

Gap, you can buy white t shirts anywhere for a lot less cost.

Matalan would be a big place to fill, took a while to put something in there after William lows left it.

When it first opened as Barcode it was cracking. Battle Of The Bands was always a laugh. Played their rakes of times. Unfortunately as the local band scene in Perth slowly died in it's arse, so did Barcode.

Aye, fond memories of Bar Code, having also played there as well in the battle of the bands!

When they changed to Mondos it was always destined for failure - style bar indeed!

Ring O Bells had been struggling for a while. Some Saturday nights it was completely empty. It used to be a good pub back in the day. Soulless shite-holes like That Bar and Sandemans have taken a lot of the business.

Its true. How can smaller pubs compete with them?
