stevensan
Rangers won because thats what the law says. The precedent was set by Saints in 1965. http://saintinasia.wordpress.com/2012/05/30/saints-v-sfa-1965/ However, things in the SFA and FIFA have changed since then. SFA now run hearings and appeals (Saints didn't get either in 1965). FIFA also have the aformentioned article 64. They didn't in 1965. SFA may very well over turn the decision and give them a less punishment. But they will still have to punish them for the breach of article 64, or the whole of Scottish football will be kicked out on the street. Maybe you need to put the passport back in the safe... Either the SFA need to grow some balls and expel the naughty kid, or everyone in the class will be kept in detention.

henryhallsdanceband
Duff & Phelps Ltd.‘s mission statement is ―to provide clients with an outstanding service based on technical excellence, effective problem solving and the highest level of client care‖. It provides a quality, partner led service and takes compliance with insolvency legislation and best practice guidance seriously. For which we charge (Partners time) £480-£545 per hour :-) Some mission - some charge; and you know - I'm glad they take it seriously - i wouldn't want to think they didn't really care that much - certainly at that hourly rate. garydavidson
It is ok - the daily record has already kicked us out of Europe and Motherwell will now play in two competitions. http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/football/spl/2012/05/30/rangers-in-crisis-fifa-will-throw-rule-book-at-sfa-says-swiss-football-chief-86908-23878682/ And that could see Celtic and Motherwell miss out on the Champions League while Dundee United, Motherwell and Hearts would be banished form the Europa League. From the DR article... Amazingly, Duff and Phelps claim they were unaware their actions would incur the wrath of FIFA, but the fall-out threatens to send the Scottish game into meltdown. FIFA are adamant that clubs who fight their domestic association in the civil courts must be heavily punished. Nothing at all amazing any more about this whole shambles. Abernethy Saint
Yep, it is not even amazing that it has dragged on this long. The Duff and Duffer "we didn't know" thing is incredible enough, but if you look at the comments below, you'll see a rumour to the effect that the SFA got their own rules wrong by using an outdated version of the rule-book! You wouldn't trust these people with a pair of scissors.....
canuck_saint
Cynical move by RFC to try and ensure all Scottish clubs lose out of European football and the subsequent revenue? Vote for newco with minimum sanctions, and they could later acquiesce to the SFAs embargo which should also appease FIFA?

I doubt it will appease Fifa, who want Rangers punished for taking SFA to court. This would be seperate.

541ntees
i noticed duff n duffer said that no big names would be sold to go into the pot . and here was me thinking the administrators were there for the good of the creditors

Indicator
Never have been, the rest of Scottish football looks on in disgust but remain powerless to do anything about it. D&D have only ever been in there to get the best end result for RFC. An absolutely shamefull chapter of Scottish football history is being written. The only option available to fans is a complete boycott of what will become a pointless competition if Rangers take their place in next seasons' SPL. Surely Ibrox, Murray Park and the players should all be classed as assets & sold to provide funds for the creditors. Why would HMRC not insist on that ?. Cagey
Apparently the money to cover the CVA is a loan from Green that has to be paid back by 2020 so where are they going to get the money to buy players. I smell Whyte mark 2 here.

"@BBCAlLamont: The latest revelations from @markdaly2 will appear here http://t.co/ajl27kD1 around midnight" Is that about Rangers or just the Duff & Phelps role? I know both are relevant but more interested in Rangers brand of corruption.
