Enjoying their new players. Everyone of them is pish

Tonight is their Easter Sunday rising and they have sold 22,000 tickets. Thats for the blockbuster 1st game of their new club. That number will very fast decline to in and around 10,000 when the dust settles. Their new players are pish yet again and are recieving monster wages. They havent learned a thing in the last year. Laugh at them

Thought it was pay at the gate.

50000 turned up for the game.

Had to hold up kick off to let the crowd in at £5 per head the price is right

where you getting that figure from?

38k according to bbc. for the historic first game.

Season tickets are 260gbp each.

38k fans

=8m, before other expenses

tv (they will get about 50,000 unless another part of the rule book in being ripped up!) and sponsorship isnt going to add much more.

Even with a wage bill 1/4 of last season (and the way they are going it will be a whole lot more than that) they will have a deficit before we start worrying about things like taxes.

They cant afford Sandaza, Kyle and co. They just can't. Its not jealously - I'm glad Sandaza has gone, as his motivation obviously isn't success but money. I'd rather he wasn't around.

Any supposedly ambitious player joing this mob in the 3rd will have their reputations forever tarnished. Thing is when they do get back to join us in the SPL most of them will get dropped like a hot tattie ! Can understand McCulloch as an older pro and a sort of company man but some of the others I just don't get. Maybe join them in Div 1 but the 3rd !

Having said that they will definitely win it but they could have done it a whole lot cheaper. Banker will be raging. A chancer like Rory McAllister would have done !

Totally agree with this. They should have done what Leeds did when they fell down the divisions, and used appropriate players for the job, improving the squad as they climbed back up. Where is the sporting integrity and fairness in paying players £7k a week against the East Stirlingshires and Peterheads of the world.

if mccoist did the leeds way as you suggest then i think he would be found out as a manager.

this way he has it easy and he should have no problem going up through the leagues.thats until the money runs out of course!

Spot on. McCoist can only win when he has by far the stronger team.

He is another that will get dropped from a great height when they return to the SPL

Not only that, but what is actually the point? You don't need players of that standing to get out of the Third Division. They're just completely wasting money. What good does it do Sevco to fill the pockets of people like Sandaza and his agent? It's just totally unnecessary. The club could claw back some credibility by bringing through good young players and supplementing the squad with a few experienced older heads here and there, but no - they choose to go down this route instead.

It's absolutely disgusting that, even after all that's happened, they're happy to piss money up against a wall and be so brazen about it. The apology they issued a few weeks back was an insult. They have no intention of learning any lessons or behaving themselves. The old club's creditors must be raging to see this. And worst of all is that the authorities (and the mainstream media, by the looks of things) will again sit back and let it all happen in front of their eyes. In fact, they'll do more than that: they'll actively encourage it. The SFA is a disgrace.

The whole thing is obscene.

That would be Leeds who still play in the second tier?

A mate of mine who supports Sevco, I know but he is one of the better ones, says they have been assured they will be in the SPL next season. He said SPL but accepted that it may be SPL 2. He says McCoist is telling this to anyone who will listen and thats why they are signing all these "SPL Class" players. Apparently they were told that this is why the details of the Sky/ESPN deal haven't been announced. Now the fact that Lomas says that they dont know how much the Sky deal is worth could give some credence to this. My mate says they have been told the TV deal is way down.

Now I realise all of this is hearsay and could very well be propoganda for the Orc but its hard to find evidence to actually disprove it. Easy to say it wont happen etc but not sure I can find actual hard evidence.

Yes, but there are many more big clubs in England. Surely you get the point, or do you just like being an arsehole!

Your comparing situations that are incomparable. Rangers have to get players who are capable of taking them through the next two seasons due to the transfer ban but also have to sign players to keep fans happy. Rangers are still the second biggest club in this country, as much as that hurts it is true. Leeds were already in the doldrums long before administration and are a decent sized team in a country that has mnay big teams. And more to the point, their idea has been ultimately fruitless as it hasn't got them to where they want to be.

Quick calculation

10 players on 7k a week would be 3.5m a year. Add on say another 2m a year for the rest of the first team squad. (remember, they still have McCulloch on a reported 22k and Broadfoot on a reported 10k!) - gives us a player squad total of 5.5m

PAYE/NI etc on this will add another 50% so say 2.75m.

Ibrox running costs (repairs, electric, rates etc) add from the admin report 500,000 a month. got to assume this is the lowest it could be otherwise the admins weren't doing their job (well, correct, they weren't). That's another 6m for the year.

They have a large back of house team as well - no redundancy's so that must have been carried over. say another 2m a year.

so, thats 5.5+2.75+6m+2m = 16.25m a year in expenses. There will be others such as policing costs etc to factor in.

But lets take 16m. Season tickets are 260gbp for div3. 17.5% of that goes to VAT so net income is 215gbp a ticket.

How many season tickets do you need to sell to cover 16m?

74418... How many seats does Ibrox have?

anyone see the problem yet??

PS - bear in mind that while under admin wages were 1m a month, we are still halfing their wage bill and the figures still dont match up. They need to sell out ibrox every game to stand any chance of getting close to breakeven. If only 20k turn up tonight (even 30k) then they are looking into a massive, double figure million black hole.

Season tickets were being sold at 75 at 1 point, according to the The Rangers fan in the office anyway.

if your talking about the rangers how can a club who has existed for about a month be the 2nd biggest club in the country?

Because whether you like it or not, The Rangers Football Club are Rangers. You could argue for another season over the legalities, moralities and technichalities of the issue but Rangers still exist and still have a fan base that dwarves all other clubs in this country bar one.

Have you never asked yourself why a guy who, it's generally believed supports D.Utd, appears constantly on St Johnstone forum threads posting in support of a Rangers Tribute club errr company.
