I wouldn't be upset. He's been poor for months, never been a real admirer to be honest... It's that bad we don't even see him diving anymore... He always dived in his United days.  Now he's getting fouled and no protection from the ref, seems to hide at times.  The old skool, hit him early philosophy, he'll not want to play.

Swanson got burst early on yesterday yet was still running at players. Twice he took the ball from the edge of our box, into the Rangers half with absolutely no help, eventually winning us a free kick. We're reliant on him and Wotherspoon for creativity, and we know how often Wotherspoon can have a mare. Its not fair to expect Swanson to not have a dip in form.

I don't know what games you've been watching davy but I think you could be our Stevie wonder supporter. Danny is a saints player not a united player and if you ask me his back must be killing him from carrying us on 90% of attacks our team make. You need a reality check as this guy you are slating is our top goal scorer and has set up 80% of our goals this season!

Yet never had a minutes first team game time, whilst Gordon's been trusted at two of the most intimidating grounds, seems strange

Kerrs out on loan getting regular game time, ala May, while we let Gordon fester on the bench. Seems clear who we reckonthe bigger talent is

Think you'll find Liam has started in Peterhead's last few games at the same level as Kerr

And in relation to Gilchrist, he underwent surgery that, once he broke down again, was diagnosed by a specialist down south as being poorly carried out

He had since been operated on again, and as far as I am aware continues to be rated by the club

Yes, but for six months he sat in our stands. I wouldn't be shocked if he stays as fourth choice while Kerr joins a Championship side next season.

If we're stuck in a position come the split, I'd see no harm in giving Gordon an actual run of games to prove himself.

Gilchrist maybe is rated, but his injuries massively hinder him, I'm not convinced we'll renew his deal purely because of the amount of time he's spent injured.

Games watched since November, when i feel his form has dipped, include all home games (apart from our win v ICT).  And was at Dundee and Partick.  He's not played well, nor have some others, dare say looking through MOTM posts might demonstrate this.. I'm not slating him, just expect so much more from his early season performances.

He's on 8 league goals, some penalties I presume are in that... decent return from midfield but his early season form has been awol lately, and I feel he is no longer the untouchable from a bit of 'slating' as you put it.

Guest ScottMann

**** the diving cheat Pawlett. He wouldn't lower himself to join such a shit club as Saints after his first experience of us anyway. Another Rowan Vine.

Unfortunately Tommy doesn't play youngsters very often always goes for senior pro s zander and kane are the only one s in the current squad who get a look in tried and tested method which you can't fault but would like to see more youth players coming through

I think TW is committed to youth but the players need to grasp their opportunity. I wouldn't be surprised if we go with just Watson, Foster, Anderson, Shaughnessy and Easton next season and that should provide chances for Gordon, Comrie, Gilchrist (if fit) and Kerr.

What more motivation did Hunter and Hurst need this season as well when we were running with three strikers? The fact they couldn't get a look in during the pre-season friendlies and sectional matches in the League Cup set the alarm bells ringing for me and neither can claim their path to the first team is particularly full of obstacles.

If we're using Zander and Kane as a measure then Shaughnessy also counts as a youth. Perhaps they are the only 3 that are good enough at the moment.

Joe didn't come through our youth system. Brown must be getting a bit frustrated that all the money spent on youth development is not achieving much.

He's still a youngster that is played quite often though. I think Tommy plays players who are good enough no matter what their age. But I'd agree our youth system hasn't yet given us the returns that some other clubs see. That said who knows how our level of investment compares with others, we may be getting a decent return for what we invest.

Look at the other SPL clubs that have been spending 10 times the sum we have on youth. How many first team players have come through their ranks. Celtic Tierney, Rangers McKay, Hearths have a few,  Aberdeen ?

The revamped youth system will probably take a good 3 or 4 years yet before it comes through.
