any links to what Tommy said about Dayton?

Down towards the bottom of this one - https://www.thecourier.co.uk/fp/sport/football/st-johnstone/455476/st-johnstone-boss-tommy-wright-sweating-fitness-skipper-ahead-europa-league-tie/

“I have maybe been a bit hard on him but I have left James Dayton go. He would have been a good addition to the squad but I am looking for someone to come in and make the starting 11 that much better.

“It is important to bring extra quality to the squad and I don’t think James would have been a regular starter for me. I am better waiting to see what else might become available.

“We have to be even better this season.

I am a bit bored today, is that this guy? https://twitter.com/callum_hendry?lang=en

Looking at the photos that was when he was at Clitheroe -  http://www.clitheroefc.co.uk/news/garner-praises-brilliant-start-to-the-season-1522865.html

Played for Blackburns under 18s last season, must be a development signing?

Though it hasn’t all been simple on the selection front for the manager, commanding centre back Gregg Anderson’s sudden retirement and 17-year-old Blackburn loanee Callum Hendry’s serious injury are obvious drawbacks to the squad:

“Losing Callum Hendry is going to be a blow, he’s been superb since he arrived on Loan from Blackburn Rovers. I am gutted for Cal and so are all the lads. He has not only been impressive on the pitch but also has shown a great attitude off it and is well respected by all the players and staff. I wish him all the best in his recovery and believe he will come back stronger.”

Yep, that sounds like it'll be him.

He's still got 3 years left on his deal with the big(ot) boys, so I can't exactly see him finding the motivation to bust a gut for us. Especially given how he performed when on the way out of the club. But, if we can deal it so we pay no more than first time around, then bring him back to do a job for a while. Tail between legs with a point to prove.

I'd take Ciftci in a heartbeat, as much as he's a sulking, moaner he's got talent. Plus he'd be too scared by Maclean to not try his hardest. The irony being im not sure he'd be an automatic first pick, but if played he's good for 10/15 goals a season which is what we need.
