blueheaven
From the 70s - Atholl Henderson (Dundee Utd, Celtic), Lindsay Hamilton (Saints) Alan Salsbury (Saints), Ian Miller (Blackburn) Are you sure about Lindsay Hamilton? Wiki page says he was born in Bellshill and I seem to remember him being a west coaster. Not a current player, but Charlie Thomson, who was Chelsea's goalie in the 50s and won the FA Cup with Nottingham Forest, was originally from Perth. ryangordon86
I always wondered why so many players were born in Bellshill when I collected football stickers as a kid. An article on the BBC website 6 months ago cleared it up. Turns out the maternity ward there covered quite a large area! blueheaven, uphallsaint and Fair Maid

Center Half
Think it was Lyndsay Hamilton that was at saints the same time as Atholl Henderson was there, Also think he was given the Nod of a new contract before Atholl, Atholl got a free and had to make do with a contract from Celtic IRC Are you sure about Lindsay Hamilton? ryangordon86
Well, I never knew that! Neither did I. It means there won't be any more Perth born players, they'll all be Dundee babies, perish the thought!
Das Rave
Neither did I. It means there won't be any more Perth born players, they'll all be Dundee babies, perish the thought! Not necessarily. Perth still has a midwife unit. 'Run of the mill' births still happen there. It's any births with complications that need a specialist are sent to Dundee. PerthSeany
Ray Stewart. Didn't see him mentioned, played for West ham for years, I believe he was the captain as well in the 70's. Think he may of had a small stint at saints as well.

I was the same as you, used to be every second one on a sticker or card was from there. Steve Zissou
Not necessarily. Perth still has a midwife unit. 'Run of the mill' births still happen there. It's any births with complications that need a specialist are sent to Dundee. You get a choice though. Both my kids were born in Perth at the midwife unit, but i know quite a few folk who opted for Dundee just in case of any emergencies. andrew
My lads place of birth is Dundee, and he hates it, ha ha. Keeps asking me if he's a mink. I was also born in Dundee, albeit in a Salvation Army nursing home (PRI was full at the time). I always wondered whether the Sally Army could be claimed to be some kind of neutral territory, and have not yet found a definitive answer so am clinging to that hope. Some say I am a mink, some say perhaps not. uphallsaint
