ex-montrosesaintee
Encks was in hindsight a good keeper, but all I remember is feeling less than confident every time the opposition had a cornerWas it a game against Aberdeen when it blew an absolute hoolie, and he kept coming for corners and missing them by miles? Arguably the best shot-stopper we ever had though.
rik2304
I still have nightmares about the 1-5 against the Arabs.
ejksjfc
I perhaps didn't make it clear in my post but I meant when Main got his leg broken And before anyone says anything that smiley is in response to ASs sarcy post not to Mains broken leg. jhq
Mike MacDonald was a Peebles Saint so therefore should be regarded as a great. Seriously though I think Kevin Cuthbert would have developed into a better keeper if Saints had given him a proper chance when Main broke his leg.Always thought Cuthbert was decent but probably just too wee for the very top level. Was gutted for him when he played a huge part in Hamilton's play off win against Hibs and they released him.

blueheaven
Cuthbert only played over 100 games for us. Never got a fair chance. Al C

The fact that Gould got chosen ahead of him to play for Scotland is just another example of why I CBA with our national side. Did we win last night btw?! HOODLUM65
Dougie Copeland signed from Auchterarder Primrose.Fans would shout, shut your legs Dougie there's a bus coming.Never seen anyone else like him at Saints for letting shots go through his legs or slip through his butter fingers into the net.We are indeed blessed that we have so many good keepers on the books at the moment, from the first team down through the age groups. The future is bright, with Tommy Wright. 55saint
As a young lad I thought he was a good goalie then (to me) he suddenly disappeared - never knew what happened until I read this - interesting story with a relatively happy ending :-)
