Winston ingram
Great news with Zander signing a new contract. We have 2 top keepers and the under 20 keepers seem to be doing well. Seems like a strong position at the club. Dave Ferg
sleepless
maybe it's just the rose-tinted spectacles of the supporter, but I do think we have an extraordinary record in keepers over the years, from Sandy McLaren through to Jim Donaldson and Derek Robertson in the seventies and onwards with Main, Encks, Mannus etc

saintgscot
Might get shot down here but I would say last time saints had two number one goal keepers and I'll highlight in my opinion was John Balavage and Jim butter.

monkfish
....Euan McLeanI'd forgotten about him. An unfortunate time.We have had a lot of good keepers over the years. Of the ones I've seen I would rate Main the highest, then Enks, then Mannus.Enkckleman is a bit of a forgotten man at Saints - I would still argue he was a better keeper than Mannus, although I understand why he lost his place. jhq
Not sure if he was better than Mannus, but he was a very good keeper who unfortunately had his reputation tarnished by a horrendous preformance on that Semi v Motherwell. I agree with you that he quickly seemed to be forgotten, although that's probably testament to how good Mannus is, and certainly wasn't the bombscare that some on here claim. monkfish
monkfish
Yep I'd agree that semi did the damage.Mannus is steadier overall, but I think Enks won us more games. He also lost us a few more, but I think on balance the excellent games outweighed the clunkers.

Lochwinnochsaintee
Unfortunate but I think goalkeepers generally are remembered more for their mistakes rather than their great saves. Jim Donaldson was undoubtedly a great keeper but his trundling goal kicks along the ground straight to an opposing forward and the times he came out of his box when on retrospect he shouldn't have are forever in my mind. sleepless
Roy Baines saved us from some right hammerings in 83/84.Mind you, we got some right hammerings as well. Dundee United put 7 past us at Tannadice. Celtic 5. Hellish season.
jhq
Roy was still MOM in that Tannadice thumping though! sleepless

MrBored
Sad to see that having already qualified, Mannus still doesn't get a shot as number one for Northern Ireland. On the bench again today. 541ntees
ejksjfc
Mike MacDonald was a Peebles Saint so therefore should be regarded as a great. Seriously though I think Kevin Cuthbert would have developed into a better keeper if Saints had given him a proper chance when Main broke his leg. Abernethy Saint
I knew Main would do anything to get a game, but seriously, that's outrageous. ejksjfc
