St Johnstone YA will play Manchester United in a glamour friendly on the main pitch at McDiarmid Park (7pm kick off).

This is the second visit from The Red Devils following on from a very successful fixture last year when over 1,200 fans attended the game to see the young Saints go down 1-0 to their Old Trafford counterparts.

As the first team are away from home the following day we are hoping that many Perth fans will use this game for their weekly ‘football fix’ and that even more fans can attend this year and create a great family atmosphere on the night. The fans will get the opportunity to see our future stars compete with the elite.

Hi Jimmy

Sorry, no season tickets are valid, all money raised on the night goes to the Academy.

Also just had confirmation that Archie Knox ex assistant at Man U will be guest speaker in the hospitality talking United, Sir Alex and a certain ex Saints player he handled in his time! Finishing with a QA session.

Was interested till you said Archie Knox. Will just pay to get in stand now.

Saints boss Tommy Wright has replaced Archie Knox, who unfortunately had to pull out due to a scheduling conflict, as the guest speaker at Friday night's Q & A hospitality event which will take place in the Centenary Suite before the Academy match against Manchester United.

This is a golden opportunity to speak to Tommy about team matters at McDiarmid Park – what have been the highs and lows for him this campaign? How does he see the squad evolving? What are his views on some of the wider issues in the Scottish game? And don’t forget that he had a long career as a goalkeeper at club and international level as well – what would you like to know about Tommy’s playing career?

Hospitality is only £50 per person and includes the following:

-three-course meal
-take part in Q & A with manager Tommy Wright
-free programme and complimentary team sheet
-pies and refreshments at half time
-Main Stand seating
-access to a cash bar
-free entry into a raffle to win a signed Saints shirt.

The Executive Suite will be open from 5.30pm for pre match drinks.

To book please call Gemma on 01738 459093 or email gemma@perthsaints.co.uk for more information

Yes 13 y.o. Northcott who must be the smallest striker to have played on McDiarmid came on as a sub.

He challenged the 6ft plus sub. Keeper who had the ba!l at his feet & attempted to clear.

Northcott got a block on the clearance and the keeper fell to the ground, leaving the young striker the easy task of netting the well deserved winner.

Excellent performance with Saints having several great chances to have taken the lead earlier in the second half, including a shot headed off the goal line.

Man of the match was Saints number 11 who looked comfortable & strong in possession and good in his defensive duties.

Every player played their part, even the sub's.

The future looks bright.

Good game. Was impressed at the style of both teams. Ball was in play for long periods  unlike pro football that's littered with loads of throw ins and fouls breaking the game up.  The speed and ability of both teams were impressive.  Good fair solid tackles was pleasing to see.

Thought Saints fully deserved the win, United never threatened second half.

No real school boy errors apart from their goalkeeper being caught in possession for the winning goal.

Decent crowd over a thousand.  Was great to see every player technically and comfortable with the ball at their feet, very seldom was there a boot up the park... In fact I don't really recall any boots.

At first I thought Saints would struggle as Man Uniteds youngsters appeared to be bigger and stronger... However saints footballing ability shown through and were deserved winners.

The team chased down every lost cause, which allowed us to created chances. Not often you see that at first team level now adays.

Well worth the trip up tonight.
