Clearly Stenny is a pub team outfit. Joke club who can't negotiate.  Remember No fans, No football. (No pyro. No party!) Get a grip Stenny and actually make an agreement you useless bunch.

Saints statement for the record..

The club wishes to apologise to supporters that a Premiership match pricing structure is in place for this cup tie. Despite protracted negotiations with our opponents, we have been unable to convince Stenhousemuir FC to adopt a sensible pricing structure for this game such as that agreed between Aberdeen FC and Stranraer FC for their tie (£15/£10/£5) and Scottish Cup rules state that when opponents cannot agree on a pricing structure then “the charges which are normally made for the regular fixtures of the club at whose ground the match is to be played, will apply.”

Regrettably, this means that adults will be asked to pay £5 more than they did for our League Cup tie versus Heart of Midlothian FC in August.

The West and East Stands will be open with Stenhousemuir fans in the north end of the West Stand although visiting supporters are asked to note that they are very welcome to use the Family Section at the south end of the West Stand – 1 adult and two kids aged 12 and under for just £16.

It's a pity Saints don't put out such forthright statements when we're being mucked around by the likes of Rangers, the SFA, the SPFL or the Compliance Officer. Mind you, it's only little Stenhousemuir.

This is Stennys cup final and you cant blame them for trying to get as much money as possible, if we were in there position we would do exactly the same, they will probably come park the bus and hope for a replay

I would get that if it was a club with a bigger gate. In reality what's the size of the prize? £8 a head extra x 1,500 folk. £6k each...hardly seems worth it.

The price hike against the OF can sort of be justified as our costs to host them significantly rise.

I don't agree.Yes the costs do rise but so does the revenue. The cost of policing etc may double but the revenue more than doubles.I would be very surprised if the % cost was higher V the old firm.

Why? We can't afford to take this lightly. We always have a shout in the cup and should field our strongest available team.

Using that logic, we should field our strongest available team every week. So when do we get to see some new talent being blooded? How does anyone know whether or not George Hunter is better than Chris Kane or Graham Cummings? Maybe George Hunter IS part of our strongest team.

How will we ever know if we can't give him a run out against Stenhousemuir?

Lincoln City v Ipswich Town result is reason enough.

I thought Greg Hurst had overtaken Hunter as next in line for a breakthrough. Hunter seems to have stalled a bit with his loan a step backwards to non-league after a couple of league clubs. Hurst's loan at Berwick is up 'in January' and with him already having had a couple of subby appearances I wouldn't be surprised to see him get a run out at some point if he's eligible and all's going well.

We apologise to both sets of fans that negotiations over ticket pricing weren't handled as well as they could have been. Our original view, taken ahead of negotiations, was that we didn't want to devalue the fixture or competition through a significant price cut from normal levels. However, upon learning that the outcome is an imposed ticket price of £23, it is clear that this cost isn't appropriate either. We have therefore agreed a reduced pricing structure of £15/10/5.  We look forward to a challenging and exciting Cup match at McDiarmid park on Saturday."

Says Stenhousemuir official site. Sanity prevails.

Stenhousemuir talking pish.  What are they trying to justify to their own fan's?  Bollocks statement.

Good work from Saints for publicly posting admission prices at £23 and stating clearly it was Stenny that wanted this... That's right Stenny back track, have you never drawn a big team in the cup away from home before...  We are all laughing at your club...
