Lets rearrange the whole of Scottish football so that a handful of teams might get through a few rounds of a bonus competition. Knee jerk nonsense. The standard of Scottish players and leagues is just very poor these days and it's time people accepted this instead of looking for feeble excuses.

Nice to see the Summer football argument remains "it's not what we have so it must work". There's numerous reports and stats out there about if you're honestly that interested in finding out why it's a poor option, I get the feeling this desire for it remains a kneejerk reaction to the overall shitness of our players.

No, but what we have doesn't work, so why not try an alternative? How bad does it need to get before we accept it's broken?

On why talk about it, it's because it's relevant. We are a decent team, in August we'd beat this mob. Saints are part of Scottish football and as such we are partly responsible for its set up.

We really need a striker who has genuine pace and is a poacher.

I wonder how much Tommy will get to sign someone or will he have to move some on to free up funds.

Got to remember that it is still basically the same squad that got top 4, not at it at European level, but domestically we're not far off where we need the squad to be.

It's not rocket science or anything to do with summer football, they were just better than us end of story ! The club have been neading another striker for a very long time and wee have not addressed the situation simple as that on to rugby park on the 5th august it is coys.

If teams don't progress in Europe outside of the OF, the drip down economics don't work. The only way to progress is to succeed in Europe (make the groups)

England is tied into the Champions League schedule. Most nations with a daylight cycle similar to us play summer football. Why shouldn't we try it? If it means cramming in 6 midweek games on International years when we actually qualify, that's just a bonus.

Steve's biscuit tin cannae be found.

It was wide open when he offered Scougall a massive contract, and also offered Swanson one.

Tw has signed three players already this Summer, and we have a senior squad of 28 players as it stands. He's been well supported.

You cannot defend the indefensible. If you are seriously suggesting that Tommy has been given fantastic financial backing to bring in a striker in the last two years, then I am concerned. Time and time again Tommy delivers top 6. Time and time again Steve gives him the 10th budget in the league.

Mmmmhhh

He has. It's not Brown's faults that TW has signed the like of Watson and Coulson instead. It's not Brown's fault TW has made four signings this Summer and not one of them is a striker. It's not Brown's fault we have a squad of 28 and not one of them is a left winger.

Tw knows how our budget works, if he decides to sign four back up players instead of one starter, that's his decision and nobody else's.

Drip down doesn't work anyway. UEFA Cup is set up to stop diddy teams getting to the groups anyway. It's a fund raiser for those just below CL level and the clubs that fall out of it.

England may be over the border but it's now light years away in the football world. Comparing ourselves to them is one of our major faults. Do any of those daylight sharers base their entire league set up and business plans on leeching from the biggest two clubs in their countries?

Changing to summer football is just rearranging the deckchairs on the Titanic. The same crap players would still be playing the same crap football. Scotland's basic problem is we just don't produce many decent players now. Until that is addressed sod all will change apart from us going further and further backwards.

Absolute disgrace.

Lessons not learned from the defeat by Alashkert 2 years ago.

Negative play with slow midfielders and over elaborate passing.

Tommy on the radio saying we either need to trim squad to get quality in or we need investment to get the quality in. I'm sorry but who the feck was he looking for since we got confirmed 4th place last season. He's had weeks to ensure we have a competitive team but no, we will continue with old or perm-crock players.

Over 2 legs we played against 10 men for 40+ minutes, how many shots on target did we have? I have no idea but whatever it was is not enough. We are going nowhere and the chairman is happy about it.

Cummins missed to many sitters and Joe had guilt edged chances tonight. This is not good enough.

Our play is bland, boring and draining.

Utter pish.

The problem we have is Tommy has created a team of players who love to defend, love pressure and love to hit on the break against better teams as we have more space. However when we are expected to attack and win games against supposedly lesser teams we can't. We have no creativity and quite frankly we arent very good. Thats why we lose so many supposedly easy games at home.

Tommy created this team but he desperately needs to get some pace and goals in there and we need a slight change in style.

I wouldn't say they were a poor side but certainly they were beatable. 3 or 4 of their players would make a big difference to us. Especially up top

Totally. Would take the front 2 in a New York minute.

It's hard not to over react after watching that. Starting the season on a downer once again.

Have we actually replaced Swanson in terms of his goals, assists, creativity ect...? As I'm really struggling to see where the goals are coming from this season. I'm delighted we signed Scougall. Good player by all accounts but is he going to give what Danny gave us? Is it fair to compare two different types of players?

Cummins is looking more and more like John Sutton every time I see him.

Just like Scotland national team. . Says it all really.  A format and style that is dated.  Keep with the auld guard also until you run out of ideas....
