Broon Posted August 12, 2017 Report Share Posted August 12, 2017 Weird game. We never really played well at anytime but were deadly when we went forward. Motherwell were awful defensively and all 3 red cards, letter of the law, were correct. Michael O'halloran is a top player. Shame he missed his penalty. Do we need another striker? On the first few games you could argue a composed, ball playing central midfielder would really help us. Ours are a bit 'punty' and don't get the ball into the feet of our danger players. Lets do a Leicster I actually spent a long winter afternoon researching this, and reported it on here, couple of years ago. We have been top of the league numerous times after 1, 2 or 3 games, which doesn't really count. Once, in the late twenties, arguably Saints best ever side until recently, we led for several months mid-season, but fell away. That was our only proper top of the league. RandomGuy Posted August 12, 2017 Report Share Posted August 12, 2017 Hard not to get carried away, but it was never a 4-1 game, Motherwell dominated the first half and were getting on the end of every ball in the box. Positives are we were clinical, and restricted them to half chances. Second half seemed to start much the same until the red cards allowed us to dominate, and we capatalised on it perfectly.
