PauloPerth
Good on Tommy for speaking out about Bates being called up now ahead of Kerr. Its an absolute farce and good on him for fighting the corner of one of his players. So basically Kerr has been fairly regular for the under 21's the past year or so, and was apparently Scotland's best defender at the Toulon tournament. For the first game of the new campaign, Tommy is told that after this qualification campaign, Kerr will be too old so they're leaving him out. Tommy says fair enough, but then looks into it and they have several players in the squad who are older than Kerr. And as for calling up Bates... This is a lad who is playing German second division and was so bad in his first game of the season against a team most folk have never heard of, he was subbed after 57 minutes and slaughtered in the press, and dropped for their next game: https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/former-rangers-star-david-bates-13029643 (its from the record so feel free not to open it and give them the hits, but basically it's confirmation of Bates having a howler for Hamburg). Jason Kerr meanwhile has been excellent for Saints, and up there with Watt as our best performer in the three league games so far. I hope Scotland get pumped at every level next week. 541ntees
Its bizarre that he was capped when not getting into our squad and now hes playing well and regularly that hes left out Cagey
blueheaven
I think Kerr and any other Saints player with international aspirations would be well advised to look into their family history to see who else they're eligible to play for, because there's zero chance of any of them getting a fair look-in with Scotland. I mean this is entirely true and I’m not that bothered he doesn’t play in the slightest. The general lies and crap have quite rightly for whatever reason been exposed and brought to light by Tommy and rightly so. I’d love to see what Scott Gemmill really has to say for himself. templeofsaints
BBC article from Scott Gemmil U-21 coach gets his right of reply - reading between the lines it seems that when Souttar was called up the decision was made to pick Bates ahead of Jason because he "He hasn't had that opportunity yet and is one of the best young players in the country" - although most would argue that Jason is playing regularly and not getting booed off by his own fans. So he was doing Jason a favour playing him. The fact that he was probably Scotland's best player in the tournament & played every game doesn't count cause he was doing a favour. So that's why we didn't win the tournament because we didn't pick the best players, just the ones he was doing a favour.

Fantastic!! No. What was he saying? We stand too much on ceremony or unwritten rules of conduct. Sometimes it’s good to be straight (not rude or aggressive.) It’s more honest. Branded the SFA decision makers of elite incompetence, echoed by Michael Stewart. Basically and evening of Stuart Cosgrove, Michael Stewart and Michael Calvin tearing the SFA/SFL/SPFL/LMAO/SLF a new one. Not a single person on the panel, there were more than I have mentioned above, thought that Alex McLeish in any way, shape or form the right man for the job. Interesting to see the 4-0 hoondin’ tonight(Belgium are decent to be fair ;-) ) Edited September 7, 2018 by R.B.B:- Adz
