PerthSeany
Personally think its not going to happen. If he gets an offer elsewhere for more money. That's where he will end up. Not a slight on him, it just seems to be the deciding factor in nearly all deals.
Denzil
As he's now a free agent, we're not tied to the transfer window, no? Either that, or he's signed but Ross was away home for the night and no-one knew how to work 'the twitterer'.
deej
Not sure if there's a deadline for free transfers at all, but if there is it certainly wasn't last night.
Broon
Heard money is tight at Saints so they've asked him to walk. He'll be here on Friday. Don't panic. Wrigelsbey
St Mikey
This is so underwhelming. Waiting for for the news of no news. Struggling to see that we have signed anyone else. Happy to be wrong but we needed 3 players and got one, who's only had Substitute appearances. Never fails to deliver.
patsy
Has there been any indication whatsoever from anyone at the club that we are even trying to sign Swanson? If he has signed but it's not being announced for the ****ing PA then that's a ****ing farce
SlickDT
Reliable posters on here have said he has signed, obviously information from people in the know. Why stress and doubt it!?I trust he has already agreed terms and will be playing for us this season. Kyle
If he does sign, I can't see it being a short term deal tbh. 2 years minimum would be my guess, considering we know he fits into our squad and he himself will want some security. If we only offer him a short-term deal, we can have no complaints if he goes elsewhere. ex-montrosesaintee and Denzil
ex-montrosesaintee
Absolutely agree with Kyle. surely with no transfer fee we should be offering a 2 year deal at least. We know he has quality, we know how much he seemed to enjoy playing football for Saints, and I would presume that they guy must be somewhat gutted to have helped us to European football and then not had a chance to be part of it. I'd like to think he would see an opportunity to rectify that.
Center Half
We do not need him signed up until the end of the month, So that will save a months wages to start with. Also by doing that we give him a two year deal then that expires after deadline day of the appropriate year, so he would need a transfer fee to move in that window. Always thinking ahead of the budget?
ex-montrosesaintee
Or stalling to allow any other club that wants to to make him a better offer...

Always thinking ahead of the budget? If a new deal takes him outside the transfer window he can just run the clock down and sign for anyone as a free agent afterwards, so delay doesn't mean we would get a transfer fee. In fact it would hurt us as he could go shopping elsewhere, we should sign him up immediately.

Always thinking ahead of the budget? his deal won't expire after the deadline. If a player signs on now for a year it'll be a contract until the end of May of whatever year they are contracted to. belfastsaintee
why isnt he signed up on a two year deal ?the longer we wait the more chance he's snapped up elsewhere.saints need to offer him a decent 2 year deal ( remember there is now no fee )COME ON SAINTS nows the time to act

Kyle
who says they haven't ?And who says he hasnt agreed already but just has to tie up some loose ends down south ?Precisely.Word of his release only came through at half 8 last night. There's a fair chance he waited down there until all that was confirmed. No need to panic - I'm sure the club have made him an offer. Just got to hope he signs up. Edstar101
If he does end up somewhere else, in this case I have the feeling that the club have done all they can and it will purely be down to another club making him an offer we can't beatHis potential availability was brought to the attention of other clubs over the last couple of weeks

PerthSeany
Based on what others said during the week that we stopped a deal because of missing out on Celtic missing out on Champions League might well be true. He wil be seeing what other offers he gets without a doubt. If he was 100% set on signing for us he would just of done that.

That Swanson is actually reading this forum and even worse is actually believing what was posted.
