I remember his old man, Ian, scoring against us in the Cup for then non-league Caley in 92.  We drew 2-2 and their other scorer I think may have been Charlie Christie, dad of Ryan.

It was Alan Hercher who scored the penalty. I will be honest I had to check the video :)

The end that 3 of the 4 goals were scored at is now a Lidl.

John Robertson apparently confirmed us as the club - along with the usual praise about us doing things the right way. :)

Caley Thistle boss Robertson said: “We’ve had an approach from a club to speak to Liam because he is out of contract in the summer.

“They have gone about it the right way where a lot of teams will make approaches without notifying the other club.

“This club phoned us and then wrote to us to say they were intending having a chat with Liam. We can’t stop that – there’s nothing we can do."

No mention of Saints in that interview though, not many clubs would have written a letter though. Old romantics.

Watched that game not long avo, brilliant old fashioned cup tie on a horrendous pitch. The late Alan Hatcher did indeed score the penalty.

Yeh but one hack writing it is hardly confirmation. As said above Robertson did not mention Saints either.

Another hack

If we made 0 signings but managed to keep a lot of key players with contract extensions I would be happy. With them tied down can then build on this squad again in the summer and potentially be a bigger threat next year than what we already are

Yeh definitely if we get contract extensions for likes of big Tony and Shaughessy.

Pretty sure there is a few others with contracts running out in summer. Not 100% sure but Spoony, Ricky Foster, Liam Craig, scotty Tanser and more. If we can get extensions for these lads then that would be more significant than most signings would be!

Billy Dodds says St Johnstone are the team in talks with Polworth too.

Inverness fans say his family turned up in more numbers than usual for the game, and he spent longer than usual at the end of the match applauding the support, seem to think that's him played his final game for them.

Spot on. Roddy may struggle with emails but I think others might be able to write them.

Mind you, the Browns may still be using up the last of the Muirton Park printed letterheads. :?

Ross County have apparently offered Polworth a deal.

No idea if they've cut their spending since relegation, but last time we competed for a player (Brian Graham after his loan spell) they're offer blew Saints "out the water".

Unlikely that Liam Polworth will choose to kick on in his career at the age of 24 by signing for Ross County over when an offer is on the table fromSt.Johnstone to be fair.

Brian Graham was very different set of circumstances!

He's from Inverness. More money at County while being closer to home might sway things, County look likely to be in the top flight next season regardless.

Ross County staying down would cost them £600,000 says Chairman Roy McGregor.
