It’s the sort of signing that will get a few extra season tickets for this campaign alone.

A decent cup run and promotion would be worth considerably more than £350,000 to Dundee United.

Their season ticket sale would double overnight if they won promotion, nevermind the extra TV/Sponsorship money.

Goals win matches, winning more matches than you lose tends into to make you money.

If he scores 20+ goals, it will have been a great investment. He is on a 3 year deal as well so not only will they make profit from all of the aforementioned but if he bangs in the goals this season, there will be plenty of clubs sniffing around ready to pay more than £350,000 for a genuine goal scorer..

Michael O'Halloran (second spell), George Williams, Darnell Fisher, Danny Swanson, Brian Graham, James Dunne, Gwion Edwards, Mehdi Abeid, Cillian Sheridan, Lee Croft, Kenny Deuchar, Liam Craig, Rocco Quinn, Stuart McCaffrey, Filipe Morais and Allan McGregor.

Matty Willock and Clive Smith didn't do too badly either.

Aye but apart from those 18, what have loan deals ever done for us?

I see there is reports that st Mirren are wanting stevie may. I know some people say they wouldn't take him cause he isn't as good. But Aberdeen play him out of position. Greg Stewart is another perfect example. Was amazing at killie start of the season then done nothing the 2nd half. Tommy knows how to use stevie and is something to keep an eye on if he becomes available

Tommy Wright confirms we're in talks with Aberdeen about re-signing May.

Yep. Other reportedly interested clubs St. Mirren & 2 from Dundee.

Apparently has 2 years left on his Dons contract.

Yes 2 years left.

By the sounds of things Steve Brown has been in talks with Aberdeen before the news broke this morning. Can't help but feel the other three clubs mentioned are simply an agent trying to get his player a better deal..

No reason we can't afford May. Aberdeen will want a fee to recoup some of the £300k they paid for him. We could probably pay up to £100k & still be £700k up on what we got for him.

Wages shouldn't be a problem as we have the wages of Watt & Shaughnessy to play with & hopefully can offload Swanson's £1500 a week.

Can't see him going to Paisley & United have just signed Shankland & they put 6 past Brechin. They do want to offload Sow so they might want May. Dundee ?. A lot depends on agents.

£2000 a week plus £1000 per goal should suit May.

You missed Paul Hanlon & Marcus Harbor. Rated both of them.

Cup final on May 9th. Wonder if Kano will give him his shirt for luck.

If it is too late as these numbers have been registered. We could sack Kane or he could take #14 the winning year.

According to the Sun Aberdeen are willing to allow May to go out on loan but may also sell him.

Said it on P&B, but I see no benefit at all in us loaning him. McInnes talking about a season long loan, with the option for Aberdeen to recall him in January, isnt appealing at all.

In that situation we'd either lose him after six good months, or lose him after 12 poor months. We'd have an expensive (as we'd still have to pay wages) first choice who we take all the gamble on, and the only benefit we'll get is the chance to have a decent striker for 12 months who we'll then, technically, lose on a free.

Permanent deal or nothing.
