Havana Saint
I wouldn't be that surprised or actually too disappointed by Watt. It fits Brown's budget (he'll be cheap). He has obvious talent and needs a strong manager. Tommy could be the man. Watt would give a different option, running into channels and playing off the shoulder. MrBored
If Watt's signing is signing, strange why we gave the trialist any game time today. Can't see both coming on board. On Watt, he must know he's in the last chance saloon. Always seemed a player to me who went in the huff when he wasn't in the team and has never stayed at a club to fight for his place. Might be being harsh on him tho.
bankfoot saint
McMillan needs to play off someone thought that was glaringly obvious his link up play was poor but once the ball came into the box he came alive not sure Tony watt would be the right sort of player to play that roll but hopefully be proved wrong if the rumours are true

I’d say Kane doing his running next to him however would possibly be promising, I don’t think they’ve had the oppertunity to play together yet. McMillan is ultimately a poacher who feeds off loose balls and half chances, something we’ve lacked recently. Don’t get me wrong he’s a decent player with a little bit of pace and guile, but he’s better facing towards the goal than with his back to it. My worry is, if we play two up front, we’re back to playing Scougall out wide and he showed yesterday that he is much better in that little hole off the strikers. He just wasn’t match sharp, but unless we drop him deeper then I don’t see how we’ll set up to the best of our squads ability. bankfoot saint
ss75990
I wonder if Ali Crawford is worth a shot after hearts deciding not to sign him.
ss75990
I am happy with Tony Watt if that's true. I remember him playing against us when he was at Hearts. He came off the bench and instantly looked a threat and was by far the their best player on the pitch that day. I think he is a direct striker and is a good size that he won't be bullied by defenders

It's a risk, but the lad has no doubt got a load of ability. It's his mindset that seems to be the problem and if Tommy can do similar to him as he seemed to do to both Swanson and O Halloran then I think we could have a player on our hands. In the context of Tommy's budget and an apparent lack of obvious better affordable options, I'd say I'm fairly happy with giving Watt a chance too. He's only 24 so if Tommy can get the best out of him and get him enjoying his football then his best years are still potentially ahead of him. If it doesn't work out, I'd assume we won't have broken the bank for him. Would love to see us go for Dorley, though. As is customary during the transfer window, it does feel like Tommy's struggling a bit. SlickDT
