We had chances Stevenson missed 2 great chances and then had one cleared off the line. Coyle was quite brave in pushing James up front after 60 minutes and putting Fotheringham at the back. A couple of flicks that nearly brought us something but the quality of the crosses let us down.

Mensing got sent off for 2 booking first AFAIR was a good booking to pick up as Airdrie were breaking through the middle as for the second one sheer frustration as Airdrie were tryin hg to keep the ball in the corner.

It's difficult to say anything positive about our showing today. Airdrie were the better side throughout - busy, workmanlike and with no little pace, although we had a couple of half decent spells. Ryan missed a golden chance at the start - well saved by Robertson, and Lovering (says it all, really) cleared off the line from his chance at the end. Played the tired old long ball tactic for the whole game, even though it was obvious it wasn't going to work after about 10 minutes - Coyle refused, or was unable, to change it - it was confirmed that this had been the game plan all along when James played most of the second half as third striker. However, their defence had the pace to cope with our front line, and simple passing skills appear to have deserted us. Mensing didn't deserve to walk IMHO - felt that the Airdrie player made a meal of it. The worrying thing is the manner of this defeat. Defence were clueless. Ruti, James and Anderson (who had a howler) are all liabilities. Sheerin and Mensing looked lost in the middle. Henry, although he tried to create something when he could, was simply being muscled off the ball. Savo had an off day, I'm not really sure what position Stevenson was meant to be playing, but Jason was our best performer. Dobbie? Dear, oh dear... To be honest, it always looked a huge effort for us to get forward, and our play looked awkward and shapeless. One bright note was that Doris looked lively when he came on. Roll on the transfer window.
