Nelly78
I would be up for going on the bus in the future. Couldn't have made QoS game as got a wedding (in Paisley of all places). Got an appointment with a specialist about a longstanding foot injury next week, so if I'm told to give up playing football my Saturdays will be free to start watching Saints again. Scott Mc
Had a nightmare trying to get a bus for the Queens game. Tried loads of companies and they either can't do it or are way too expensive. Apparantly they are all so busy because of the Edin festival. I think we should hold off and try and get a bus for the Morton game in September. This way we can get definite numbers well in advance and get the right size of bus. Unless of course someone knows of a really cheap bus company??? Hey TB try Earnside Coaches in Glenfarg 01577830360, small family run business a bit off the beaten track so they may be able to cut you a deal. tallpaul723
Just a thought but since everyone is up for the trip to Dumfries and had all put the date aside we could all arrange to get the same train from Edinburgh to Lockerbie and then arrange for a bus to pick us up at that end (McEwans are the local bus folk doon there) to take us into Dumfries and back. At least that way it would still allow us to make the game especially given the interest from folk for the trip. Could be a bit more hassle than it's worth tho, but like I said, just a thought. Good shout TP. Tractor Boy and I have already discussed doing this and are both up for it. I have looked at train times. 0851 Edin - Carlisle (Arr 10.07) then 1055 Carlisle - Lockerbie (Arr 11.12) There are no direct Edin - Lockerbie trains in the morning. The service bus from Lockerbie to Dumfries goes every half hour (on the hour and half hour). and costs about £3.00 - takes 20 - 25 minutes. Alternatively 09.51 Edin - Carlisle (arr 11.08) then 12.18 Carlisle - Dumfries (arr 12.55) Coming back either the 17.30 Dumfries - Carlisle (arr 18.08) then 18.58 Carlisle - Edinburgh (arr 20.21). Or bus to Lockerbie and catch the same train there at 19.16 Any thoughts

Nold
I take it some of us are heading through to F*fe on Sunday. Which train are you planning on getting. I have spotted one at midday which gets us in at 1230 which as I recall coincides with pub opening time. Any takers?

I believe the train is at 11.55 and is actually a lot cheaper than the bus. Also, we have a Fifer travelling with us who will be able to show us the glittering delights of the Dunf and translate if necessary (ya hoor sir!).
