    St.Johnstone V Dundee - Saturday 20th April

Was that not what we used to call a "Dundee game"? I know they are not down yet but on the way home I thought back to that game in 1962 when they won the league at Muirton and sent us down. Well as Del gestured to the Celtic support last week "up yours"!

    St.Johnstone V Dundee - Saturday 20th April

Solid win and never in doubt after the great start Dundee made for about five minutes when they looked as if they would run all over us. Then we took control and really looked very good in spells. Hendry looks as if he can be a great find.

Agree that was an easy victory , much more emphatic than the last fixture against them , when they were 'allowed ' a few chances to score. Jason was not missed due to Gordon's performance. Even late in the game, Gordon could be heard geeing up his team mates. Solid effort. Noted that Dundee had 49% of the possession.. Presumably at least half of that was down to passbacks to the keeper.

It's all ifs , buts and whys. Not sure how long his Contract is , however the few occasions he's been available to play in the Reserves on his comeback , suggests to me , having watched him , he has a long way to go to replace Tanser , as I agree was excellent today.

Thought that was as easy a victory as you can have. Thought Liam and callaghan were excellent in midfield. Do wonder if we would have been top 6 had Tommy stuck by Liam in there instead of bringing in goss. Really think midfield is better without him in it.

I've not seen much in the way of reports of how he's been getting on in the reserves. If he's not up to scratch then fair enough. That was the point of my why? question - is there a performance issue? Unless there's a better (relatively) versatile and experienced left back kicking around and if the team are confident he's recovered, why would we not give him something? It's not as if his wage demands are going to be crazy and they should be in the budget anyway. Tanser was very good today. For me he's a 7/10 player, and Easton gives an option that's more defensive and could maybe step in when it's a case of injury or form drop, until we can upgrade Tanser at least but I would think we have other financial priorities.

Got to ask, have you seen Easton play on his comeback.

My only question is... how the feck did we contrive to end up behind Hearts in this league.

    St.Johnstone V Dundee - Saturday 20th April

Scrappy 1st half but was wondering why we were not in front. 2nd half domination , then Tanser put the game to bed with a wondrous free kick which the keeper did well to get a hand to. Matty terrorised them every time he was in possession. How the full back never received a yellow card is puzzling as the Ref. awarded frees for frivolous challenges. Matty was ably supported by Tanser. Gordon strolled it , with Kerr not missed. Liam put a great effort in , winning headers and setting up attacks. I could go on but will cut to the chase , Callachan in midfield was my M-o-M. with his winning of the ball and tireless effort. M-o-H was a disappointment but maybe with a pre-season will be an asset next season.

That's our first 12 points from 4 games from one team in a season in the last 10 years, well done Saints, thanks soap dodgers for being so crap, bye bye for a wee while. enjoy ur wee Derby next year but don't be strangers for too long, would much rather Dundee back up than their neighbours. And now for next week a chance to secure our 2nd 12 points from one team in 10 years, COYSS.

Good solid performance - couple of shaky first touches and Foster and Joe had some dodgy passes but we were never in danger. Hendry, Matty and Callachan all excellent - plus Tanser's goal was sheer magic. All in all a nice afternoons work.

Stroll in the sunshine, that. Dundee didn't have a shot on target and their only possession was what we conceded to them, which was playing it between their centre halves and goalkeeper. Hard to judge performances of our own players as Dundee are clearly a league below us in terms of quality. Kennedy took the absolute pish again, Hendry started the flicks and tricks after his goal, Gordon and Shaughnessy got some heading practice and Tanser finally got his goal. Perfect.
