I agree May should be playing more, even if it just means giving him the last 25 minutes instead of the last 2. He's looked lively every time he's come on recently and I still say his workrate and all-round play offer us a lot of things that our other players don't. I think he'd be a better bet in the weird role that Levein has been trying to fit Nicky Clark into. And as much as I've complained about square pegs in round holes, I'm pretty confident May would bring a lot more to the left side of our midfield than Gallacher has.

I wouldn't be gigantically surprised to see County do just that. If they beat Livingston and go above us it'll give them a massive boost and they could easily go on to piece a run together. Even more of a boost to them if that win against Hibs takes them above us because we've sat in for a stuffy 0-0 or 1-1 against Hibs. I can see us producing some sort of stuffy 0-0 draw or 1-1 draw against Hibs and it not.

They have 3 games at home and they have beaten Hearts and Rangers at home. I am sure 3 wins is not beyond them.

If we try for draws, we'll get beat. Match County's points and we're safe. Fail and we're in the deep stuff. The only solution is to get on the front foot from the very beginning. Draw Aberdeen or even Motherwell back into the mire. We've been fortunate against County twice this season. Third time lucky?

We're basically in a mini league with County. Regardless of what happens with other teams, as long as we stay ahead of them, we'll be fine. I'm discounting Livi from the equation for obvious reasons.

We won’t win 3 games - nor do we need to. Beat Ross County and secure 4 draws would see us safe. They won’t pick up three wins in four games - they’ve only won 7 all season!!

I'd also like Kimpioka and Sidibeh to start, both have youth, energy and pace. Couple that with a strategy of getting at the opposition from the off and I would imagine that could catch them off guard, so should work well. After an hour or so of giving their all, the younger forwards could be replaced by the older, experienced and proven pairing of Clark and May. They'd be fresh and have more than enough in the tank to get them through to full time. The added benefit to this being by that time in the game, we might need experienced heads on the park to see us to the finish line. This way in my opinion, everybody plays in their correct position, are played appropriately to their physical strengths and makes full use of their experience. I realise it rarely ends up as simple as that, but I think it would be a good base to build from.

Completely agree with all of this but sadly I struggle to see Levein doing any of it. The Kimpioka-Sidibeh pairing in particular surely has to be worth a shot? I think it could really take an opponent by surprise if we unleash those two from the start of a game. And Hibs, whose defence looked pretty ropey last time, would surely be prime candidates to try it against? Feel a bit sorry for Clark as he's being used in completely the wrong role. He's far from the only one, though.

It's not what any other team does which matters, it's what Saints do or don't do. It's a five game league. How we attack it will determine our fate. Five draws won't be enough in my opinion. We need to win at least three. Levein has to overcome his caution and be brave from the beginning, not the last ten minutes. He needs to play players in form and in their correct position. He's had the time to find out yet so seldom does this. We need Sidbeth and Kimpoika up front together as Clark has done little. Maybe a substitute near the end. I'm desperate so even Crawford in the last ten minutes as he can sneak a goal. If Wright or DJ are fit (a big if) some width would help that front two. We can't rely on Mitov for man of the match performances every game so the whole team need to be willing to fight.

I think he just needs to look through this forum for the line up We do have to be the most predictable team i've watched. if we get a goal, the play that led to it becomes the blue print until it runs out of steam.

Why would it be good for Ross County to pick up a point? I'd much rather see them lose. Livi aren't going to catch us. Even if Livi beat County and Hibs beat us, Livi are going to be 10 points behind us with four games left, so they'd effectively have to win every game and we'd have to lose every game for them to catch us. Realistically that's not going to happen.

A draw would probably be best result for us; we need to beat the Hibees - it's very simple.
