    Congrats

On your comprehensive pumping of......... well I don't really know how to describe our shambles of a football team, pissed on us from start to finish. I'm totally despondent after our capitulation today but I'll never hide, there's not even a crust of comfort I can take from today so enjoy your gloating. Ah the best Web.

  5. You will be in the minority with that then. For many they will use this site as their number 1 source. Others will use Facebook or Twitter which is the fastest form of communitcation the club has. The club need to use every source open to them The website will need to stay traditional and facebook and twitter can then go to areas a website cannot. And then you have the forum where fans can discuss and drive things. lets not go back to the 80's when you got Saints news on the back page of the PA on a Tuesday and Friday. Not that you will be interested but the Facebook album of today's game and the fans reactions are already on-line. Go on you want to have a look! http://www.facebook....82677295&type=1

  6. Firstly, your idea of everyone leaving from the same place, with one person running one club is nonsense. The Barossa Street ST.JOHNSTONE club is ideally placed for people who live in the east side of perth, Bridgend and Scone. For many, McD is not the easiest place to get to without driving. So what we put in place was an "option" Many fans have happily taken up this option. Do you believe we should just kill our supporters club? Next.... Your comment on the club making money on the bar. So does the Saints Club, and hopefully in the future ( as happened in the past) the Saints club will donate surplus monies to St.Johnstone. This has not happened yet but hopefully will. It is now not an issue of subsidy but an issue of aggressive pricing given the buses are now the sole resposibility of Saints.( alledgedly) Bus profits. The bus does indeed make a profit mostly, indeed last season we made somewhere around £600 and including todays bus,we are sitting at just at about £700 profit already this season for just 5 buses. This profit though, along with the other monies raised through the various events goes into the pot which we use for donations to St.Johnstone. So far in the last few months money has been donated to pay for 4 sets of 20 strips for the under 13's, 15's, 17's, and 19's. The Barossa Wap also donated £1000 cash to help cover the costs of sending a team to the Foyle cup in Ireland. Add to that 20 rain tops and the sponsorship of 2 players @ £720.. In total around £5500 has been given to the club. I hope this information is helpful to you mainstand and helps you at least understand what the Barossa Wap is all about and what we do with our "Profits" All that said though, I firmly believe that if St.Johnstone are going to run buses for a fiver , the Barrosa Wap bus should also be the same price and any loses incurred could be covered with the monies held in our account. This would mean that we would have less money to donate to saints but as you say it would benefit the fans. I ask for this as bus conveener at our meeting on Thursday past but when it was put to a vote it was defeated 9-5 and this prompted me to resign as both bus conveener and committee member. I apologise for being another to take this thread off topic ( because I don't actually believe this issue has much to do with the original idea of this thread) but really do believe that Mainstands comment needed addressing and the facts needed stating.

  7. What a great day. Standing and singing for 90 mins! Some cracklings goals. Tade was superb today and Liam and Chris Millar were superb also Dundee were awful and only downside was we only scored 3 goals Glasgow bus was a great laugh Gradme jones, Manny Panter and Peter Snarr chants all the way home. For those negative Sainta who claimed relegation, sacking of managers and useless players a few weeks ago gets it up you. Blue moon rising

  8. Daylight robbery, it should have been five. Long night drinking on the Hilltown, it will get better later though if any arabs arrive later from Inverness.

  9. A win in this one coupled with other results going our way could see us as high as second. Given we were bottom 3 weeks ago, that would be some achievement. Pretty sure it will not be nearly as easy as the Dundee game but the n fact is that we should win this if we play to our potential. Bring it on.

  12. As has been said many times already Dundee's worst performance of the season by far and Saints best. Only two goals in it though, we can only get better and Saints will obviously move down the table again. Roll on January 2nd, yee-ha.

  15. John, I hope the j208 continue to run buses for many years to come. Our issue is with saints and it is quite simple. Why should WAP Barossa St put money into saints at the same time as Saints are subsidising buses from the MS. WAP BS is now well established and we will continue to run buses to home and away games as one of our aims is to get as many fans as we can to the games. There is also a strong desire to continue to raise money for saints. I dont think saints have thought this issue through and it is pretty much an own goal situation. Once we hear back from Steve Brown we will take it from there. In the meantime its business as usual until we have heard from saints and the committee has met and agreed a way forward. Ghostie has put a load of effort into making the away bus a success and we would love to see him back at the helm.

  16. I still have doubts, knee jerk reaction after a few wins really fed up with all the positive knee jerk reactions, knee jerk reactions must only be negative so we can all have a good moan... It is the players who win us game, it is the managers fault in defeat, simples!

  18. the j208 saints still run the buses. i have had this clarified by s brown and r grant (twice) and roddy hopes the j208 will still be running the buses for another 20years. now unless those 2 people are telling me lies then the j208 will still run the buses and i am still chairman of that club,

  19. Still here, good performance today... however they are pish so we shouldn't get too excited but it''s going in the right direction. Less long ball and more ripping them a new one down the wings would have been better and no tactical subs to change the dynamics against a team who were clueless. . We won 3-1 never heard so much pish in my life

  21. You lot need your heeds bangin the gither. Who cares who gets the credit, so long as the club benefits in some way. And why nit-pick about Barossa St club? They seem to have done good work with Saints, AND have generated good PR!! Just what you want. They ARE a good story. Stop fighting, just copy Barossa St - sure they can take the compliment...likewise 208 might also feel hugely flattered that the club would welcome the name/patrons as their own. As they say ....

  25. Having that many passionate fans even at a home game would be brilliant. Great atmosphere the whole game, what a difference being allowed to stand makes. Let's see you all that were there today back next week!

  30. No I am afraid I am a realist. Saints have a fairly small support. Saints are trying to encourage fans to attend matches and have buses leaving from the ground. Saints have a bar at the ground which is getting used by fans prior to the departure and probably when they arrive back form games. good business sense. The Barossa street page talks about the profit being made on the buses, I take it Saints are just covering the cost, Ideally all the Clubs should get together book the buses through the one person and leave from the ground. That way £5 a head more going and the Club benefits form bar takings.

  31. If only Saints had the resources availalbe on tap that you all think they have. Infact if they even had a tenth of the resources some people think they have they would be a PR juggernaut, facts are that they have not therefore go to the places where they are making an effort i.e. Facebook and Twitter even if you do think they are shite.

  32. Well said Gav, that is pretty much how everyone felt on Thursday at the meeting. I am delighted that some saints fans are able to get a bus to away games for a fiver but the club should be doing it for other travel clubs that are putting money into saints. The j208 are putting in money by using the Muirton Suite as a base we are putting in @10 k per year from our fund riasing. Why should one get a subsidy and the other one get he haw and a load of bull.

  33. Exactly how I feel Gus.As soon as I found out what had happened on Monday I pm'd ghostie to book 2 seats rather than take the train to show my support to the BC. I am now boycotting the Muirton suite until this is resolved.I am flabbergasted at a time when the SJFC is losing supporters that they would undermine another supporters club that has been not only supporting them, but also the Muirton suite financially. Our way or no way approach from the club again.Disgraceful

  34. The debate over Lomas sums up Scottish football fans for me. Extreme reaction to whatever the situation. To call for the manager to be sacked after five games was stupid and to now say we have completely turned the corner is stupid. A defeat next week and people will shout for his head. Can I make a suggestion? Get a ****ing grip and let the season develop.

i cannot believe so many people are backing fletcher. if it wasnt something as important as Scotland doing well id be tempted to go with the attitude of bringing him back just to prove he is not the messiah you all believe him to be
