As we know in the match played on the 15/12/12 between Montrose FC and The Rangers FC. Many fans and the Chairman of the Newco were "dismayed" at the "ridicule" of an article published in the fanzine. Part of the article stated; “Playing their first season in Division Three, The Rangers are a newco of the now defunct Glasgow Rangers. Currently top of the table, they will be hoping to go on to seal the title and clinch their first silverware.” This is simply nothing more than the truth and is factually correct. Can someone point out the scornful parts? Why be offended by the truth? I would suggest that if Mr Green and his teams follow, followers do not like dealing with the truth or some forms of open media that they apply to the North Korean FA for membership.

  2. Would like to see a winning mentality from warm up to final whistle - work as a team that we all know is capable of winning and NO slack passing.

  4. We've started going occasionally this year - 4 games to date. Somewhat to my surprise, the Beloved turns out to love footy, even though that appears to have more to do with Tade's arse than anything else. I suppose we could be classed as potential season-ticket buyers, or at least more regular attenders. Given that the footy isn't at all bad at the moment (despite, in those games, a record of 1 win, 1 draw, 2 defeats, GD 4 - 9!!!!), there are two things holding us back. 1. It's too feckin cold. I know summer footy is a debate for another day, but it's just tooo feckin cold! 2. The money. The entrance fee is a joke for football at this level. But that's just the start of it - the food and drink prices - £1,90 for a spotty teenager on minimum wage and minimal grasp of English to put a crap tea bag in a cardboard cup which they don't even have to collect or wash? £5 to park in an usecured car park for a couple of hours? Everything is at premium prices. Not only does this make it more unaffordable, but it leaves you with the feeling that you're being exploited, rather than rewarded, for supporting the team. If it was the best footy, cup of tea, car park available, fair do's, but it's not. The old macho thing about footy being a man's game, it's supposed to be cold, the boril is suposed to be shite, the stewards are supposed to be ba stards etc was fine - christ, I froze me balls off watching Highland League footy for years. But, even allowing for inflation of course, it;s vastly more expensive now - over £60 a visit for us, including petrol. A week after one of our games, we went out for a decent meal with drinks, and to the theatre. In total, this was only about £30 more than the footy. We got fed proper grub, and got two hours of entertainment in the warm. At no point did any of the actors get sent off, none of them missed their lines from 6 yards out, and when we stood up to applaud at the end, no beardy c unt threw us out. I'm not saying that a footy experience can or should ever be like a meal/theatre experience - they are different things, which you go to for different reasons. What I'm saying is that a pretty basic form of entertainment - 22 chunts kicking a ball round a field - with no frills and terrible service standards on occasion should not be priced at anything like the same level as a meal out/theatre visit. Or if that's too snobby for you, replace "meal/theatre" with "weeks shopping" or "xmas pressie for the bairn" - it's the same argument. A reasonable price for us to watch Saints regularly, with a pie and a cuppa, would be about £15 each. Even at £20, we might go more often. But we cannot and won't pay semi-posh night out prices to watch a footy game other than occasionaly, sorry. And I just can't imagine that;s an unusual view.

you could say whatever you like but to be honest you don't know unless you have had some inside information. He was injured and had a muscle injury, he has come back from that quicker than expected and has had limited opportunity for matches as the under 20 games have been cancelled. As for only getting on the bench that is all i would have expected from a player who has been injured for a period.

  7. I've had this feeling, ever since I was aware of St Johnstone (from about the age of 5), that one day I'd see us win a major trophy. Just some gut feeling inside of me I can't really explain, I just get the feeling that's it will happen. Every year we seem to be improving. I mean we've steadily rose from the First Division into the SPL, and now we're steadily establishing ourselves as hard team to play in the league. I've no doubt the next step will see us turn into a top 6 club nobody likes playing (like Dundee United). And then who knows? With this I'm hoping we can a major trophy, Scottish Cup or League Cup I'm not really bothered. Something would be nice though and I feel the players we're starting to attract we should be capable of such a feat.. Am I daft or does anyone else share the feeling we're the up and coming team in Scotland

  11. Rangers get what Rangers want. The only major exception has been due to the outcry of supporters earlier this year, without which the SPL would have put the newco straight back in. Because of this, the orks are even more vile, bitter and twisted because they didn't get their own way. Rangers are the root cause of corruption in Scottish football. The Scottish press will not properly investigate any scandal associated with them, the media in general will only be happy when they are back in the top flight. The authorities will not take sufficient action against those that send threats to those who adjudicate against them. The stewards will do little against them, but at the same time take tough action against other supporters. Match officials are intimidated, and being only human (yes really, referees are human) they will inevitably give decisions Rangers way on occassions. Alex Salmod and other politicians are deafening with their silence since Salmond spoke in favour of Rangers when all this kicked off in the spring. Chucky Green can get away with spouting bilge when other chairmen would get hammered. And if anybody dared to criticise the almighty untouchable Walter Smith in public, they might as well string themselves up in George Square and be damned forever more. Montrose technically told the truth, but no one in the Scottish media would dare defend them. This underlying crap is endemic in the soul of Scottish football, and putting them in Div 3 will not cure the disease. Discuss.

Saints could be doing more to up their communication and engage with fans. Season tickets, and tickets for larger individual matches, should be sold online and everyone who buys anything from the club should automatically have their email address added to a database and mailing list. That mailing list should then be used to reach out to supporters and let us know what's happening: for everything from special offers in the club shop, to discounts on match tickets, to new signings. I've bought tickets from a lot of English clubs over the years, and all of them do this: I'm constantly emailed by loads of football clubs (and also other entertainment venues), purely on the basis that I've once bought a ticket from them. The fact that Saints have this double-ticket for the Christmas matches, yet hardly anyone seemed to know about it, says a lot about why this sort of thing is necessary. The communication needs to be seriously ramped up. And as soon as I heard about that double-ticket, I would have liked to be able to go straight to the Saints official site and buy that ticket online. But I couldn't, so that 'impulse buy' moment has gone now. Why do I need to go to the venue in person, or phone the club, to get a ticket? I don't have to do that when I buy tickets for anything else. Why do I have to do that with Saints??

im sure Cosgrove talked about this last season on off the ball, the clubs all took a massive hit in the first 3-4 years as the fan base was low but it gradually grew bigger and now they are reeping the rewards.

    Stewarding

The next time this sort of thing happens everyone in the vacinity should use their mobiles to take video evidence of whats going on. If innocent people are being given grief and thrown out then this will add a bit of credibity to their case against the stewarding and will remove their word against yours problem.

  20. Brought about by weak, ineffective and chaotically indecisive governing bodies who appear to be quite content to be continuously outwitted and manipulated by a club who have only been in existence for, what is it, 150 odd days. A club which, when you think about it have no real right to even be competing in any of the top four leagues. The fact that rules were, and still appear to be getting re-written to accomodate this club still sticks in the gullet.

  22. Its those involved with the club that want it both ways. If they are having birthday celebrations, keeping silverware and getting all outraged when Montrose point out a few facts then they want the history. So they should have the historical bills and debts that come along with it.

  23. Murray Davudson appears to be a bit more intelligent than the average footballer so hopefully he will see that dropping down to Division 2 as it will be wont help his career. I have no respect for anyone who drops down the leagues to play for them. That won't change if Davidson hues there.

  25. There appears to be an apathy throughout Perthshire towards the club at the moment. I think a number of fans have got out of the habit of coming to games and have found other interests instead of the football. The away supports have been lower this season with the club not having to open the North Stand on a number of occassions. It's disappointing as the board has worked hard to target the local community and the standard of entertainment on offer has been good this season.
