With no SPL games this weekend there is on the 1 place in Perth to be abd thats Riverside Stadium as Jeanie entertain Kinnoull in the GA Cup. Swifts are current holders of the trophy and will be looking to start the defence with a victory over local rivals in the Fair City derby. Both teams are in last 32 of the Scottish while Swifts are midtable in the Premier League and in the Aca League Cup final to be played later in the year. Kinnoull are in top 4 of Central League and have a good cup record in recent years. Several ex saintees will be on show with Stevie McManus and Stevie McAllister in the Swifts squad and Chris Anton and Chris Dodd in the Noull team. Kick off is 1.30 pm and its £5 &£2/3 for entry. Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm sure he said 'why don't you **** off back to your own country'. Blatant racism and disgusting behaviour. I can't believe anyone would defend what he said.1 point -

Plus... Tenerife and Mallorca are both part of Spain, are they not? Either way, there's absolutely no chance of Sevco getting into the English league: England doesn't want them even if UEFA were okay with it (which they're not). As much as I'd love to be rid of the Old Firm, UEFA are dead right to say clubs can ever be allowed to just pick and choose what country they play in - that would completely destroy the whole concept of domestic football. How many times are the OF going to keep bringing this up before they get the message?1 point -
The same can also be said of Keith Millen his predecessor. Took over from Coppell's mess and kept us up comfortably in the end. Then we started last season off dominating games but failing to get results, and Del came in replicating what hapenned the season before. Now we have to hope lightning strikes three times, but I've already accepted relegation. I'm actually quite upset to see Del leave, he's a very likeable guy, and like I said we all wanted him to do well it just didn't work out which is a great shame.1 point

No, I disagree, nothing to do with fairness, that man does not have a point at all. He need only set his legal beagles the task of finding out why Welsh clubs play in English leagues and a simple query on Google even, would tell them that Swansea City are in the premier league, Cardiff City are in the Football league with Newport County, Wrexham, Colwyn Bay and Merthyr Town in feeder leagues. These six teams have all played in the English football league system since their founding. Long before UEFA were in existence, they are perfectly entitled to be there - unlike a new club that has only been in existence for a matter of months. It's another instance of the man talking absolute tosh, he's playing to the audience.1 point

England don't want them They want to go to England and enter into the Premier League or the championship. They quote other welsh clubs like Wrexham/Newport County who I believe are in the conference. If they want to go to England (if England and Uefa accept them) they should enter at the bottom league (I believe their are 8/9 levels in the english leagues). This means that if they are accepted at the bottom level next season and if they sail through each of the leagues (in their dreams) it will be 2019/20 season (or 2020/21 if there are 9 levels) at the earliest before they reach the Championship. Do they want to wait until 2019 (at the earliest) to get to the championship or accept that they may be able to reach the SPL (or whatever it may be named) in 2015/16. They keep quoting they are the biggest club in Scotland - they fail to mention that old Rangers are the most corrupt and the most disgraceful club in Scotland. They also fail to realise that sevco are the newest club in Scottish football so they have no reputation and no history. They claim they had the biggest crowd in British Football today but this was because none of the SPL, Man Utd, Man City, Arsenal, Liverpool etc were not playing today - not because Sevco have the biggest support in Britain,1 point

He should now leave this lot. As they are under severe finincial problems i have been told. the chairman had pledged £40million 3 years ago to build a new stadium and fund the push for the Premiership. I belive they have squandered/lost around £20million already, no new stadium and facing relagation. he should have listened to the old head telling him there is bettter out there for you. If i was him i would get a CV into Doncaster NOW.1 point -

THE LARK SAINT reacted to Steve Zissou for a topic
No, that isn't true. Correct me if i'm wrong, but if a team finishes in the bottom 4 of SPL1 and then the bottom half of the middle eight they are relegated to SPL2. If a team finishes in the top 4 of SPL2 and then the top half of the middle eight they are promoted to SPL1. Up to 4 clubs being promoted and 4 clubs being relegated. I wouldn't say i'm totally won over by the reconstruction proposal, but for me the middle eight is the most interesting part of it. If you look at the clubs who are likely to be competing in that middle eight (not saying thats where we should aspire to be, but presumably us at some stage) to be in SPL1 the following season, there is the potential for some half decent crowds, as you would expect it to be pretty competitive and big incentives for all clubs involved.1 point -

To be fair, Chucky has a point about the Welsh teams. Why are the likes of Cardiff, Swansea, etc allowed to play in the English leagues? (Genuine question by the way?)1 point

Much as he is a bawbag and bereft of any hint of a brain, the racist tweet thing is utter nonsense. We are rapidly heading for a society where speaking will be outlawed. So clearly a joke, so clearly not a racist comment, but twisted to suit the sensationalist vultures. It riles me. I've got a Dutch friend called Ard Kok - I fear for the day when taking the absolute piss out of his name will be considered abuse. Fun is wrong it seems1 point -

but would you rather watch us play in a game where we are going for europe/relegation dogfight or a md table game ? i think most would prefer the 1st option and this new proposals makes a mid table game less likely. as for it being confusing-if folk cant comprehend it then the government better get some better teachers into the schools1 point -

A deal that I would be attracted to is if saints agree a pre season friendly with someone e.g dundee (derby) home and away, and for all season ticket holders who buy a ticket before an agreed date get entered in a prize draw to play for their team for the last 10/15 minutes of the game. so the winning saints and dundee fan would both come on for their respective teams and live the dream.1 point
