Aye they could have got the ferry to the Orkneys and caught a fishing boat across then cycled to Trondheim.

Don't think it's about reward I think it's about giving the team the best chance if getting a result.

Saints could have taken the whole squad and management via klm for £15k, it was the clubs choice to fly privately.

I've got a mate who owns a company called Sporting Options. I will ask him what the deal is and why Saints would have been charged so much. My guess, from speaking with him about trips he has done for Rangers' fans is that the cost is inflated because you are asking a plane company to deliver a plane to an airport where they wouldn't normally be flying in or out of - e.g Edi or Gla then going to a destination which is also off the beaten track - meaning they can't easily do a couple or three more journey's while the team does its thing. We seem to have gotten a SAS plane, which will be able to service a few routes in and around dropping our party off. All up the cost is prohibitive due to the time of year, the pick up and drop off...in those simplistic terms. It has to be said: St Johnstone are new to this club travel "lark" and i don't think they really know what they are doing!!! Not properly. The team ought to have flown regular service with kit etc sent on ahead via man in van. As musicians do....

  8. proxynova.com I think usually gives you a list or proxies and their locations. Can't access just now as I am using the wifi in library. Ironically, if I had access to a proxy server just now I could use it to get around the P&KCouncil internet restrictions!

I guess Saints take the decision to charter a flight as it is a rarity to qualify for Europe. I doubt these little teams enjoy that luxury. Plus, however tiny their leagues are, they don't have Neil Doncaster undermining every possible income stream and giving it all to the old firm.

  13. Look forward to meeting with all saints fans in Edinburgh airport tonight, and Trondheim tomorrow. I hope that we all have an amazing time, and none of the excitable young ones get into trouble and make a bad name for our club....

  15. What about St John's Place.. the kirky, willows, half a tanner.. just take over the street. As long as we're on the pavement shouldnt be a problem as all these places have licences for drinking outdoors and im sure would welcome the trade

  16. So how do we go about getting a result in Norway? I'm assuming we'd all be happy with a score draw or even a narrow defeat with an away goal in the bag. Who would be in your starting 11? Exciting times, IN TOMMY WE TRUST!!!! COYS!!!!

  20. Today's Norwegian lesson veit = alley Holstveita = the Holst alley adding "street" is therefore redundant! other street-related words: gate = street Nordre gate = Northern street Munkegata = the Monk street vei = road Klæbuveien = the Klæbu road

Im putting my tuppence worth in on this but im not going over every single point,im just going to say ;how can crusaders fly from further away for 300 quid and we can only do it for 800 and that's subsidised? I said sometime ago that saints would be charging a lot more than crusaders were and people slagged me off instantly saying I was insinuating that saints were ripping off there own supporters? Im not going to say told you so ..but.

  27. For those just arrived. MacBeths is about a tenner for a pint. The three lions across the road is about a third cheaper if you get the local lager. Voddy and other spirits are 3-4x the price at home. Get tanked up on your duty free at your hotel room first I say.

  28. Those young loanees would've cost us buttons. The likes of Beattie and Riordan were gambles that didn't pay off unfortunately, but I think they succeeded in the sense that they gave our Manager confidence that he was being backed and trusted by the board.

  36. Don't encourage them! Some of them don't know where decency begins and ends, especially after a few drinks! The only message here is for us - move on. On a serious note, I'll never forget Vine's winner v Celtic. Papers manipulate everything that is said to create maximum effect for themselves. Just get on with getting to Norway and come back having cheered the boys on to a good result for those who couldn't make it.

  45. One thing I feel we missed out on is the fact he was greatful of the opportunity given by Saints and wanted to stay here. Wanted to commit to another contract. Didnt want to move in the hope of more money elsewhere! So im disappointed in that regard but ur people are right with the inconsistency etc. Saints could of maybe sat down with him and said well we cannot afford ur wage. But we can offer u reduced wage of xxx if u want to stay?
