  2. This is what pisses me off about 'European' football. If you want to participate in a spectator sport against other European countries then you need to have more relaxed visa regulations otherwise you should not allowed to participate. Belarus isn't Europe anyway in my eyes. Neither is Russia. I shouldn't need a visa to visit anywhere in Europe.

  4. Kudos to the group in the corner, looked like you had the time of your life. Having experienced your moronic stewards and cops, I wish you luck in the future. Don't let them nor the complaining on here stop you. Surely the smoke would have been better saved together for the entrance rather than pre-match though?

  6. No. But I agree. I must be so thick for not wanting my club to be fined. There is no need to resort to personal insults. I wouldn't go onto the Rosenborg forum and act in a similar manner. Please leave if you can't show a bit of respect for the views of a majority of St Johnstone fans in relation to a topic which is connected to St Johnstone FC and not Rosenborg FC.

  11. I wholeheartedly agree! Mistakes have been made...put it to bed. WE know who the villains are in the piece! Let's just take the high moral ground on this one. At the end of the day who really cares who said what when etc. I for one just want to enjoy watching my team with players like May & Wotherspoon who have been lifelong fans of the club and who WANT to play for the best side!!!! Celebrate the positive, snuff out the negative! COYS

  12. Thanks for the best start to a season I can ever remember. Tommy Wright and the team have already exceeded expectation for me and I hope that the momentum keeps on a rollin. A massive well done to the lads and all the staff at the club. You all deserve special appreciation from our fans. Thank you.

  13. So if someone has plenty of spares it's ok to break the property of someone else? The seats belong to SJFC and if broken the person should have to pay for repair, even if it was a mistake.

  15. This is a pretty pathetic thread. What happened on Thursday was so minimal that we should not even be discussing this. The first time in years we have a nearly full ground (and probably the most Saints fans in god knows how long given the small away support) and all I see is a raging argument over a dozen burst seats, two plonkers on the pitch and less smoke than you'd get from 20 Regal King Size.

  17. Good post. If I remember correctly this all started when discussing what your club can or cannot afford. The point I'm trying to make is that despite the smoke, I still think that overall they are a benefit to the club financially as well, with or without pyro. Whilst the win is huge for you I'm sure, the high will end and I can't imagine you'll have 7-8000 at every game? Here in Trondheim there are many people who choose to go to the stadium instead of watching it on TV, simply because of the atmosphere we create at our stand. Over a season, that will be quite a big sum for the club because of the influence the most passionate have on the rest. I think the same thing can happen in Perth and when you look at the positives and negatives, these lads will not have been a burden to the club's finances.

  18. ''Please send a like if you agree'' is not an ego trip? I made a clear point. This thread is specifically about the smoke bombs and pitch invaders. Therefore, people should be able to talk about the smoke bombs and pitch invaders on this thread. No need for PMs. If you don't want to talk about it, then stay away from this thread. It's that simple.

  19. ^^ Fishing for 'likes'. And I don't agree. The existence of this thread means that these boring arguments don't have to take place anywhere else. Rosenborg, I appreciate them for the atmosphere they created (chanting, singing, dancing, generally making noise) and I appreciate the fact that this may encourage more people to come. Fair play to them. However, I can also condemn them for using the smoke bombs which the club pleaded them not to do. There were positives and negatives, both of which I am more than happy to compliment and criticise them for.

Thought Nicholson looked pretty good. Positive on the ball, broke forward quite a lot and seemed to be happy talking a lot of the younger players through the game. I've always rated him and wouldn't mind seeing him brought in, although I'm not sure we need yet another central midfielder. If there's budget for more players I'd have a striker and a defender as higher priority. Edwards and Brown both looked the part and Dylan Easton showed some promise when he came on. Really want to give Fallon a fair chance but he's been disappointing in the last two games - we seem to lose possession whenever the ball reaches him, and he doesn't exactly look like he's busting a gut. I find it hard to see him getting into any goalscoring positions for us. Certainly not a patch on Tade. The new Davidson bloke looks like he could be a real find.

  22. I'm sure there were loads of people who loved the atmosphere they created and will be coming back as a result. Plenty of money to the club there. Not to mention the effect it has on the players. I agree the smoke didn't do much but that was due to bad planning and execution. Anyway, even for those who share your view, I'd say the positives outweigh the negative. Thereby my suggestion to appreciate their effort rather than condemn.

I wasn't there today but his attitude looked good on Thursday night. Put a lot of effort in for the last half hour. Friendlies are a terrible judge of ability as well. Give him time.

  31. We all had attitude when we were that age. PotP and Dylan are probably more like some of us at that age than we would like to admit. I am not defending them, their actions or their comments in any way though. Just because some of us on here did 'stuff' when we were younger doesn't make it acceptable. When we behaved like that, we got what was coming to us, as I am sure they might well to. I hope not and that they learn to conduct themselves in a more appropriate way before they insult a REAL hardnut from whom their 50 ankle biting mates will not save them. Us older guys have the benefit now of hindsight and experience to realise that some of the things we did back in the day probably were wrong and caused inconvenience to others and their kids. Those days will come for the young squad now as well. What really concerns me is the adults who seem to be supportive of the mentality of some of these lads and go and stand beside them, as if trying to relive some kind of glory days, and attack folk on here who criticise or have concerns with their behaviour and the impact it has on other supporters, local business owners or the club.

  33. Those with the smoke bombs and the 2 muppets who ran on to the pitch are a disgrace to the Club and in my opinion not real Saints supporters. They blatantly flouted the appeals by "their" club and will now result in a hefty fine/hassle for the club. Over 500 "real" Saints travelled to Trondeheim caused no trouble and were brilliant ambassadors for the club and the "genuine" Saints supporters. So furious for the players & club that at full time they were greeted with boos rather than unbridled joy. On a positive side, best result in 34 years of following Saints!

  34. Noose you spectacularly miss the point. Doesn't matter about what you, or I, deem the dangers or lack of with regard to smoke bombs. The simple truth is that using them risks a UEFA fine and the club asked supporters not to use them. I've been to about 2 or 3 games per season over recent years due to living abroad, and I still consider myself twice the Saints fan of whoever defied club requests and risked incurring a fine.

  35. Please put things into perspective. The boy who ran on at the end was papped out and will probably get a season ban, and rightly so. It was in the top 5 home results in our history so 2 or 3 people going over the wall is hardly the end of the world. The smoke bomb causes no danger to fellow supporters, so grown men calling for over exuberant young lads to be banned for life is frankly pathetic. Were you never young yourself? Have you never done something at the football that the old moany b****** side of our support frowned upon? Most of you lot were likely around in the 70's and 80's so get down from your pedastal and focus on the result. 100% guarantee UEFA will see no wrongdoing in the events at the ground and we'll happily march on to Minsk. CYS.

Its Time To Name & Shame

First of all, stop hiding behind your mates. I said you are an idiot. You are an idiot because you were stupid enough to come on here shouting your mouth off letting the world know that smoke bombs were going to be set off tonight. And they were. then you started greeting like a wee boy because you were told in no uncertain terms that you were being stupid. I'm referring to your post about fans threatening you because your a younger guy. You can't play the big man on one hand and then claim to just be a wee boy on the other son, that's not how the real world works. I don't know you and I wish you no harm (other than I hope you're banned from McDiarmid if you're found to have had any part in tonight's idiocy), but I can assure you that your behaviour on here and with the incident at the bus is going to lead you into situations you can't handle. Up to now, you have shown that you are unable to grasp that your actions are stupid and could lead you to harm. Therefore you are an idiot. Is that clear enough for you?

I actually thought that the smoke things let off didn't cause any inconvenience. However, it was made quite clear that the club could suffer if such things were to happen, so there can be no excuse from those that did. I missed the one man pitch invasion. The group of youngsters who congregate at the bottom corner of the east stand, if you were to take out the smoke bombs, actually do well in creating a decent atmosphere. If I was that age again, I would probably think it was pretty cool. What concerns me is the older MEN who go and join them.......

  40. Don't know where to start. Proud of everybody associated with the club tonight, be they a player, coach, management, director, fan, bar staff or whatever. The atmosphere before during and after the match was incredible. The heart the team showed made me want to cry. Stevie May will go down as a legend for his goal. Nigel was unbelievable. Mannus showed that he is without doubt the best goalkeeper in Scotland. Ando was immense and I really worried when he had to go off. Paddy was superb. Where do I stop? Went to the Tulloch afterwards and it was great to see so many faces who stood on the Muirton terraces all these years ago - this was our pay back guys. Forty-plus years of following Saints, many highs, even more lows - but that was the pinnacle, the absolute pinnacle. Not only did we win, we were worthy winners. Thank you St Johnstone and all connected with you.

  41. As a neutral let me first say it was an absolute privilege to be there tonight to experience that with you all. I could tell just from the sizable crowd how much it really meant to them all. Drove a 190 mile round trip on a spur of the moment urge to watch history in the making tonight and it was worth every effeing penny. 25 quid at the turnstile with the missus and I don't grudge it one bit, absolute value for money . Hopefully this gives the Saints a little financial boost and you guys can go on and upwards. Met some tremendous fans tonight and thought the Rosenberg fans were great aswell, the atmosphere was superb and I just hope that the FC Minsk is just as thrilling. All the best, I will certainly be trying to make a few more Saints games this year.

  42. I'm completely done. Thought I might go out for a few drinks no matter what the result, but when that final whistle blew I felt like I was about to collapse. All I could do was sit down. I spent all day telling people we couldn't afford to lose an early goal, and when we did so I thought that was us ****ed. But we refused to let them get a decent sight of goal and it paid off. Stevie May, what a beautiful beautiful man Special credit to Alan Mannus, who is simply one of the best keepers we've ever had. And to Paddy Cregg, who'll be turned into a Norwegian ghost story due to the sheer horror he caused the Rosenborg midfield with his never ending snapping at them Anyway, I can barely type, completely ****ed. One of the best nights of my life, thank you St Johnstone, for being utter legends

  46. Such a huge work ethic comes across with the present management team and players. Even the one or two potential prima donna's seem to be seeing the benefit. I don't know if its just me but Tommy Wright gives off an aurora of a young Ormond or Stein. Maybe I'm just getting carried away but I don't care
