On Friday there was a point where a knackered Chris Millar chased down the ball and tried to put a bit of pressure on one of Motherwells defenders. MacDonald quickly moved into the centre of the pitch between both of their central midfielders and clearly was keeping an eye on both guys. Davidson would unlikely ever do anything like that. It's little things like that, that go unnoticed by most but can make a huge difference to your team.

  2. I managed to watch the game live over here. 'Nice to see the boys win. By the way, I had a birthday the other day and was most pleasantly surprised to receive a birthday card fromSJFC. It had been signed by all the players, so I was well pleased. I think my daughter must have 'phoned and pestered the office! Thanks, Saints.

  4. A shame because he's made them punch above their weight season after season. Lasley to take over?

Saints hospitality was certainly one of the bonuses of moving to an all seater purpose built stadium back in1989....it is fair to say that the set up Saints have and the benefit it has brought to the club is fanatastic. Even after 25yrs many other scottish league clubs struggle to offer this facility and it is to Saints credit that they are opening this up to a much wider audience at a reasonably affordable price!

If you look at the second goal on Friday night Gary Mc caused one of the Motherwell defenders to pause giving MOH an extra bit of space for a fraction of a second.

I had hospitality for Ando's testimonial and say if you get the chance to go or want to treat someone you will have a good time. will defiantly consider going to a another do and the q&a sounds an added bonus. Will try to convince my wife that such a do would be a great birthday or Christmas present.

  11. Center half that is a warm up and is on a day when the players are at McD which is a light session on the day before a game. Half of a players prep is now down to rest and is controlled by the sports scientists, their heart rates amount of running etc all being monitored. What guys of our age did all these years ago probably never made us any fitter just knackered.

  12. Some of his deliveries last night were excellent though, including the cross for Frazer's header and his assist for the first goal.

  13. You were lucky. We lived for three months in a brown paper bag in a septic tank. We used to have to get up at six o'clock in the morning, clean the bag, eat a crust of stale bread, go to work down mill for fourteen hours a day week in-week out. When we got home, out Dad would thrash us to sleep with his belt!

  14. Two sublime moments of skill worthy of a showing on Soccer Am, in a game devoid of much else, turned this game in our favour. O'Halleron assisted by Croft was very good but watching him walzing through the Motherwell defence was something above sublime! I woke the dog up screaming at the gogglebox.

  15. Couldnae make my mind up. But between MOH, Kaiser and Midge. MOH, two good goals but big booboo for theirs. Kaiser, good runs good tackles not too shy about letting the rest know who wears the armband. And a couple of good strikes. Midge, broke up most of their moves and some good passes. And a special mention for Rickardo who told me all this after he sat down.

  16. I also thought McFadden played very well tonight. Fair play to him for unselfishly playing in MO'H who was on for his third. That's a player who knows how to play the game. I appreciated his contribution tonight, very much so. Did I read someone saying Wright was rubbish? Personally I thought he was a stand out yet again. Without him in the team we wouldn't be looking at 4 points from 6 with only 2 goals conceded. Of that I am absolutely certain. Teams get nothing out of him in the air and he reads the game surprisingly well too. Huge respect to him for playing 3 games in a week to that level with his injury troubles. Thank you, Frazer! First half was awful, absolutely awful. Fraz gave Michael O'Halloran such a bollocking for his part in their goal I thought his head was going to explode. O'Halloran is his own worst enemy and beyond frustrating to watch. I was happy to see him get his goals and he played well by and large after that incident. Thought Miller and McDonald took better control of the midfield than I've seen from any central midfield pairing this season so far. At times we were a bit overrun but Motherwell have pace and that has always been a killer for us, even last season we found it difficult against teams with pace. Overall I'm happy with tonight. The players fought so hard for that, epitomised by Brian Graham almost killing himself to chase down a ball near the end and he won it! It was inspiring to watch them FINALLY fight for their place in this division. Onwards and upwards guys.

  17. Midge for me. He broke up their midfield almost single handed & was the only player comfortable with the ball.
