Has everyone deliberately forgotten the Semi at Tynecastle against Aberdeen? The weather in the days leading up to and on the day itself were exactly the same as this. It's called January!

But O'Halloran wouldnt be getting sold unless it was part of that hypothetical deal. So whats being talked about is us selling O'Halloran for half his value simply to get in a player now who would we don't even need unless we agree to that deal. Its madness to even consider it being anything other than pure bollocks.

    Semi Final Nostalgia

I had my dad at the final in 2014. He has been living in England for 45 years. He told me that the last time he saw Saints in a big cup game was the semi-final in 1961/2 v Rangers at Celtic Park. Saints were winning 2-0 and Rangers ended up winning with a penalty late in the second half. There was a lad from Blairgowrie scored 2 goals that day. I can't remember if he said for Rangers or Saints. For me watching grown men crumple with emotion after the SC Aberdeen game was very humbling. No fans of big teams get the feelings that were generated that day.

    Semi Final Nostalgia

The 3-0 win over Hearts at Easter Road remains one of my favourite ever Saints matches. A terrific Saints team of players at the absolute peak of their powers, when Sandy Clark was still new in the job and we were absolutely flying. We destroyed Hearts that night. And what a goal from Biscuits. Most heart-breaking for me would be the penalty shoot-out defeat to Rangers. Really felt like we were actually going to do it that day. Particularly gutted for Jody Morris who missed his penalty that day but was such a great player for us. Sh*ttest would be either the hammering from Motherwell or last season's League Cup defeat from Aberdeen - both were a complete collapse from really good Saints teams who should have done much better.

Oh I see. Looks like they are expecting trouble. Haven't noticed any such message/directive issued by the SPFL (who fecked up the stadium/ticket arrangements), Polis etc. prior to a game before. Looks like fans in the 'wrong ' area will have to leave their colours at home, sit on their hands throughout the game and remain tight lipped till the end. What a f ecking way to watch YOUR team in a semi final of a national competition. Dung cast er and his henchmen should hang their heads in shame. Sooner HE is EJECTED the better.

Here's the match preview, lads and ladettes - http://www.perthstjohnstonefc.co.uk/newsitemsdetail.php?param=4045 The pre-match nerves are starting to kick in. I'd love to watch Sunday's Celtic v Ross County match on TV with the knowledge that the result is actually relevant to Saints. Hope you all have a great day. To those Saints fans who are sitting amongst the Hibees, stay safe.

A pint Eddie!, last time I saw you, you were lying in a heap at Tannadice when we scored, and that was with only having a half pint!

The issue will be pissed up Saints fans sitting in the Hibs end making themselves obvious and then mouthing off when they eventually get kicked out, because they've convinced themselves that they're in the right and feel like they're proving a point because the SPFL cocked up the ticket sales. If I hadn't managed to get a Roseburn ticket I'd definitely have bought one in the main stand just like a lot of people have done, but the security goons will be well within their rights to kick Saints fans out of this area, because them's the rules sadly. No obvious colours and piping the f*ck down should be the rule of thumb for Saints fans in that section, but I'm not sure that's what will happen.

    Semi Final Nostalgia

I was 10 watching that on the tv, Only thing i remember about it is ''that goal'' from Biscuits. Can't believe we have such a poor record in semi finals despite reaching quite a few and with good teams as well, with the exception of Motherwell and Aberdeen they've all been really close too... Still can't believe Rangers beat us in that Scottish Cup Semi either, thought we had it in the bag. They were terrible. An all 1st division final it would have been too. The Scottish Cup Semi against Aberdeen more than made up for anything else though. After watching Pawlett ghost through us and set up McGinn in the 15th minute I thought we were done but then in the 2nd half Stevie May decided to tell the Aberdeen fans just who the f**k he was. Wasn't even gonna go to that 1 as well but my dad, a part time Gers fan, decided we were going whether I wanted to or not.

Thought those within the Peebles football circles would have broke the news about Maccas contract extension. Or, do they still think his career is over?

If the weather keeps deteriorating I expect Hibs will get a bye - with 'operational difficulties' the formal reason.

You beat me to it Soupy! Was up in Inverness yesterday as I work on the railway. Anyone from Inverness expect your journey to take between 4 hours to Edinburgh if you are traveling by rail. If you live further North of Inverness there are no trains running so make alternative transport arrangement to get to Inverness. The only trains running from Inverness are the ones to Aberdeen so make plenty of plans before tomorrow regarding connecting trains to Edinburgh. It's not recommended you travel via the A9 if you are traveling by car so unless your rich enough to hire a plane from Inverness Airport or going via Aberdeen (where the roads will be mobbed) , Rail is the only realistic safest option, best of luck guys Note: Your ticket to Edinburgh will be valid so there is no need to buy a ticket to Aberdeen nor from Aberdeen to Edinburgh, and vise versa. The nearest railway station is Haymarket so alight there, 10 minute walk to Tynecastle from there.

Reality is that we are a diddy club. It shows in our attendances each week which simply can't compete with the likes of Celtic, Sevco, Dundee United etc. No shame in that though,I'd rather be apart of a wee team dreaming rather than a big team expecting. At least or size still doesn't stop us from giving the SPFL a big F*ck You. C'mon Saints, get right into them!!

    Semi Final Nostalgia

The 0-0 '89 semi final was a great achievement for one of my favourite Saints teams against David Murray's bankrolled old Rangers. I was only 15 years of age and was just in awe at the huge Saints support that day, I reckon there was at least 10,000 Saintees there that day. This day was tinged with sadness by the time we got back to our bus and heard the tragic news of Hillsborough. My favourite semi final was undoubtedly at Ibrox when we beat the sheep, more than made up for the tanking they gave us at Tynecastle earlier that season. Here's hoping on Saturday that our great team will give us another fantastic result to talk about in years to come.

    Hibs fan in peace

I'm as relaxed as I've ever been for a semi. Normally by this stage the desperation to see us finally win something has taken over. Obviously that doesnt apply anymore, would be nice to complete the set of all 3 domestic cup competitions.

Saints vs Hibs LC Semi 30/01

If they are going to take that line they should issue a statement telling the 100 - 200 fans who appear to have bought seats in the Hibs area to stay at home. If there is heavy handed stewarding and trouble the Pontius Pilate/head in the sand approach is unlikely to save Saints from censure. I sincerely hope that some effort is being made behind the scenes to reduce the risk of unpleasantness, that and the sensible attitude of the fans as advocated on WAP should ensure a peaceful afternoon.

I wouldn't be paying £50-150k for Swanson. A player they signed for free and have barely used that we could sign for nothing in a few months time.

As one who is in the " Peebles football circles" I would never divulge anything said in confidence including who might be signing before the window closes!!! It was someone who worked with Maccas wife who said his career was over not someone from Peebles.

    Michael O'Halloran

Any other interest in MOH? I hope not, but I wonder if maybe there is another couple of interested clubs working on things quietly in the background. If we are going to sell him, then we should certainly wait until the summer. His value won't drop too much by then and he could get us a cup win and or up a place in the league. Of course, there is always an outside chance we get him to sign an extension? All would depend on how the club handle him now. TW knows his mindset really well, so hopefully MOH doesn't get affected by any speculation.

Did one lens not fall out once in a muddy goalmouth scramble at Muirton? The game was stopped whilst players searched for it and, I think, found it - but that might just be because my memory likes happy endings!
