Imo that was a cracking 2nd goal, as already said 9/10 efforts like that would probably miss. Zander wasn't "out of position" as some are stating, he was in the area where you'd expect most keepers in contrast to where the ball was in play. Lucky strike or pinpoint accuracy ?

I think the logistics and different stages of travel involved in going to Dubai and staying together in a hotel make the risks much higher than sticking to the normal routine of staying at home and only heading out in your car to go to the training ground. There's also the risk of players/staff taking the UK strain out to Dubai and spreading it to others while they're there. Yes, players staying here in the UK are still catching it because there's never going to be a 100% Covid-proof system, but there's taking minimal risks in order to do your job and and then there's taking completely unnecessary risks that involve travelling to the other side of the world.

I thought spoony had another game, also his cross you mention was a cracker. Even thought his freekick from just outside the box was curling in. Think he's more confident just now (no crowd pressure as I think has been said).The guy certainly tries.

These criticisms of the Shanksinator are grossly unfair. I’m with the Wee Man on this. He’s got a whopping 5 goals in 33 top league games now ON TOP OF all those goals against Alloa and Queen of the South etc. And he has created literally THOUSANDS OF SQUARE MILES OF SPACE along the way. If that’s not multi-million pound transfer form then I don’t know what is, frankly. HUGE offers will arrive soon. Any day now. Just coming. Won’t be long.

I wasn't suggesting we play it, just answering how you play 4-4-2 with yesterday's line up and nobody out of position. I think it's clear we're playing 5 at the back in every game possible this season.

Just google ‘players who have scored from the half way line’ and you will see quite a few decent keepers who have been beaten from that distance. Zander just joins the long list. Yeah it was good, but blaming him is nonsense. I am sure all those keepers would have been shaking their heads but I bet there are hundreds of attempts that ended up failing to hit the target. Speculative and opportunistic from Shankland, but doesn’t require any great skill, only luck.

We'll have to agree to disagree. The defending at the first United goal was shocking. We don't seem to be tracking players like we used to and I've seen this over and over all season. Zander has lost a bit of confidence but good defending as a unit can change that in a heartbeat. We have good defenders but we need to be doing the hard graft and chase the opposition down.

Team always play better with Liam Craig in it.

I said this last season we do have good young defenders. All apprentices and no senior tradesman to teach and mould them on the park. Nothing has changed. From what I hear Gordon is the one doing all the shouting but he is little experience of leading a defensive unit.. I used the example of (Rangers)David Wier teaching and coaching Danny Wilson during a game and controlling the defence. So much so he made Wilson look like a superstar. He got a move to Liverpool and we all know what happened next.. This could be our problem all good young defenders and not tradesman to talk them through the game.

Utter tosh! I'm sick tothe back teeth of everybody and their dog piling on. The defense have been very patchy and there is no commanding figure at the back leading the way. It's easy to pick on the easy target but some of Zanders saves have got us points - away at Ross for instance.

Having a defence in front of you that parts like the Dead Sea every time the opposition come close must be a nightmare for every keeper.

Or he will be proud of himself as Nd should be praised for getting the boy sorted and up to match speed and settled in the club. What you saw from him tonight MAY have been as a result of the work done by the club on him and the extra practice he has been doing. Also thought May looked sharp when he came on

I agree we need a new keeper , even if. It is for competition.Zander is turning into a bomb scare.Saves very few and when he does do his job we all think he’s a world beater .
