  3. I would 100% sacrifice a bit on the initial transfer fee in return for a higher sell on clause. I think that’s the way to go these days, especially if he moves down south.

  4. Personally don’t think £2.5m is enough for him, Aberdeen threw out £1.5m for Ferguson saying they wanted considerably more for him so would expect them to want £2.5+ Ali is a full international he’s won more domestic honours and has now scored an international goal I would be disappointed if he went for less than 4 million

  8. Great to see Ali scoring tonight for N Ireland. Just adds to the price tag should he see his future elsewhere next season. I hope he stays but I’m realistic enough to realise that should the “right” offer come along he may well be away. Just hope Saints are strong enough to tell either of the ugly sisters where to go if they make their usual petty offer

  11. Most Disappointing - Stefan Scougall. Watched him control a game for Livi against us and fell in love. Still convinced he'd have been a success if TW had played him as a "10", rather than as a winger, but his career since doesn't really back that up. Honourable mentions to Gavin Swankie, who was alright but not the match winner I'd hoped for, and Willie McLaren, who I'd convinced myself was some maverick off the cuff winger who'd win us games single handedly. Most Surprising - Steven MacLean. 29yo injury prone striker who had about 12 goals in 7 years, could barely get a game for Plymouth and was last season playing for Cheltenham. Had a horrible habit of missing sitters early on too. If you told me he'd become a certified club legend I'd have just walked away.

  14. I believe it's all tied in to needing to be able to present it before the end of the season, because everyone disappears off on holiday after the last game. This isn't the first time a Manager of the Year Award has looked ridiculous after being given out too early. In 2008/09 Gordon Strachan got the PFA award, only for Celtic to be overtaken at the top of the league and finish second. Rangers won the league and the Scottish Cup that year and yet Strachan got the award. It definitely needs to change.
