Do we have enough defenders to have a "second choice" defence?

I think it's inevitable that some signings will happen late. There are going to be players who become available later in the window (I think Macca found that last season and that was how we ended up getting Jephcott and Matt Smith) and others who will start to worry they still don't have clubs as the season approaches and perhaps broaden their horizons to Scotland. I'm guessing any loan signings will likely happen closer to the deadline too. I know we've been told the new owner is unlikely to alter the budget much but I do wonder if he'll be tempted to sanction one or two bigger/better signings as a way of announcing his arrival and getting the fans on board from the start. But that's probably wishful thinking!

apparently the strongest 11 started, meant to be 45 minutes. CL not happy and left them on for most of the 2nd half. Who that strongest 11 are in anyone's guess??

The key word in the sentence was minimum. Obviously you would hope that a lot of weeks they would be above that but if most of the team never drop below that then we are in to a good thing. In comparison, last season we had a number of players who were less than 6/10 most weeks. We need a few Mr Consistency’s, every team does.
