Still not what i want up front for Saints.His work rate has really improved,but his touch and finesse haven't in my opinion.Seems to be flavour of the month,'cause suddenly he's working harder.His flick ons are invariably too long or no where near his partner,some of his hold up play and knock downs have improved,but not my type of spl striker.Certainly adds a nuisance aspect to our game,but not the quality needed to really hurt teams or make chances out of nothing.I realise his game is not all about goals,but he just doesn't have the attributes of a quality striker imo,ie pace,balance or touch.

Davie Mac,Danny,Liam and Millar were all stand outs,but cup-tie edges it!

Should have been out of site well before the last 15 mins.Deuchs missed two decent chances,Sheridan should have squared to Liam for a tap in,and even thought Doobs should've done better with his free header.Aberdeen were toothless up front,and our back four coped very well when put under the cosh late on,don't think Smithy had any difficulty dealing with every thing thrown at him.We snapped at their heels most of the game,McGhee admitted we were hungrier,and we were the better team,thought he was magnaminous in defeat.All the radio pundits especially Biscuits and Doddsy raved about the team and our club in general,special mentions for Del from all concerned

Doobs was decent,MacKay was superb,and despite Deuchs scoring ,still thought all he brought was nuisance value,he's not what i want up top,but in Del i trust!

Cup- Tie for me,surprised Deuchs is so popular,thought he had little constructive play at all,and at one stage even fell in slow motion

Agree with all of that,except didn't feel Deuchs did much apart from nuisance value all game,but his finish was quality,didn't think he had that touch in him!

That's exactly the vibe i was getting from my source,the players need support when things aren't going like we want,not constant criticism.Are all these people who justify it, telling me they are faultless at their work.I for one, know i'm not!

All good managers always stick up for their players,Fergie and Wenger never publicly condemn their players,but remain loyal to them,almost to the extreme in some cases,i think Del was supporting his players,and the fact they have progressed so well in the step up in leagues,and fans should look at the bigger picture.Realism is required by those impulsive boo-ers,we are a small team,holding our own very well.

Beleive me,it wasn't Del i was worrying about,but rather the source,who happens to be one of your golden childs,and the effect it might have on TEAM morale!It was very recent by the way,not 2008.

Heard today from a players mate, that Del was really hurt by the booing,and more or less said to the players they would have to do it themselves,because of the lack of positive support from the fans.Really disappoints me to hear booing,and it's obviously having an adverse effect on the team.

Thought Mooners was a defo yellow,and a good one for the team, Miller was breaking and would've been one on one wi bombscare sorry Ando.Mooner took that one for the team,smart and quick thinking.

Must admit i feel Deuchar can do no wrong now he's scored,in some eyes,and Sheridan is the the new target for the abuse he was getting 2 weeks ago.Personally think Cillian is a much better option up front,and the only time Deuchar really impressed me on saturday,was the last 5 minutes when he was playing almost right midfield,and he kept possession well and tried to play in Sammy a couple of times. I would prefer to have Sheridan here next season rather than Deuchar,but will be in the minority.

Agreed!Apart from the fantastic bit!Didn't think he was too bad today,and thought he might have done better than Dukes with the chance late on in first half,when , not for the first time the good Dr couldny move his feet quick enough,it was on his left foot,but that's no excuse.

Was a cracking day out.Usually drive to every game ,but got the choo choo today,and had a few swallies for a change.The result always helps make the day better!
