I respect the right of every proper football to bellow such sentiments at least 4 time per season! 🤣

john.w reacted to blueheaven in January Transfer Window
Unless you've seen the guy play, I find this sort of view absolutely baffling. As long as the club have done their homework and actually watched him (like I suspect they didn't do with Bair), then I don't see what the problem is.
For comparison, he's playing at the same level in the English pyramid that Dipo Akinyemi had spent much of his career at before signing for Ayr United. When Akinyemi started banging in goals for Ayr, there were a lot of people on here suggesting we try to sign him, and also asking why it is that Saints never seem able to find/attract players like that. Now we're doing exactly that and people are already flying off the handle about how bad the player apparently is.
I'm really struggling to understand how people can form such strong opinions about guys they've presumably never seen play or even heard of. Surely we've all been following football for long enough to understand that there are gems to be found at lower levels.

john.w reacted to Aitchy in Hercules C F
Apart from they never infiltrated the club, they were employed by our former Chairman.
There has been plenty of discussions over the past few years about who was responsible for the decline in our club. Fingers have quite rightly been pointed at Davidson, Flaherty, Grieve and Guidi but its now clear that the ultimate responsibility lies with Steve Brown. His complete disinterest in being the Chairman led to us wasting millions and resulted in the overall standards in the club declining to such a poor standard that a result like Saturdays defeat against Airdrie was not even a surprise.

john.w reacted to Lt. Col Kojak Slaphead II in Hercules C F
Bit of a contradiction in your statement there surely.....? Yes, he played a part in the shit-show we are currently dealing with due to being appointed into a role that was far and above his skill set, but at the end of the day all he was was an employee.
There is one man to blame and one man only and you named him.

john.w reacted to Cleveland-Saint in St.Johnstone V Hibernian - Saturday 16th December
Starting to look like a proper football team, been a while since ive felt that. Really solid performance, gilt edged chances being created, sub cadence felt right.
Mr Levein, getting happier with your leadership sir.

Is that 3 wins in our last 5 home games? Compared to our recent struggles at home it’s a refreshing change.

john.w reacted to Havana Saint in St.Johnstone V Ross County - Saturday 11th November
First half was total Industrial hoofball from two sides devoid of knowledge of the beautiful game.
For thr first 10 minutes of the second half we were a lot better, with a focus on keeping the ball on the deck.
Clark and Phillips were brilliant. Workrate and intelligent passes were key.
Liam Gordon continues to give me the absolute FEAR.
We deserved the win today. A massive psychological boost ahead of a tough December. We were not at our best, but with Avril's astute knowledge and wisdom, I cannot now see us being 12th come the end of the season. A decent appointment.
Thought the fans were absolutely fantastic today.
For all the part-timers out there (plenty) ...please come home...we need you and you need us.
COYS!
