  1. On the face of it you are right, but it takes time to develop such a strategy. In the meantime we need someone creative and who can score goals.
  2. it's all good business and good to see them making money.
  3. I think he is also rather busy being "political" although that may just be twitter.
  4. i saw this was in the paper today and i seriously thought it was a joke.
  5. It's political and Israel are recognised as a state and are a member nation. As is Ireland
  6. I agree with this but I don't think it is actually Strachan. It seems like it is in the Scotland's manager's contract to pick whoever is the latest Old Firm hero!!
  7. I see he has admitted diving. Let's see if they follow logic and rescind the red card. But remember this is Scottish football we are talking about!!!
  8. Morgan obviously has ability; he was at Liverpool for one. That said he wasn't really with it on Saturday. He needs to bulk up a bit as he was getting pushed off the ball too easily. Kane was much more ready in my opinion. I don't think Kane is yet ready to start but he was useful coming off the bench and should perhaps have come on sooner.
  9. I don't think intelligence is a quality associated with football phone-in and forums, although there are some obvious exceptions with the latter. I am surprised that that he was in the starting line up but obviously they think highly of him. Anyway, great though he was with us he is now playing in England.
  10. When he tried to get it to McLean it was maybe the right thing, but he had hesitated a bit and could have got a shot of goal. That said he played really well in the short time he was on the pitch.
  11. There are obviously issues at the club, as there are issues in all organisations. Saints do social media really well now and I think that is due to a volunteer. But in exchange the frequency of adding up-to-date content on the website has dropped. It is clear from the accounts that they are not rolling in money, despite the profit, but some functions probably need dedicated staff and clear planning. Probably as there are more communication tools available, the harder it gets for a small organisation to look efficient, as someone will always complain that they don't do twitter, facebook etc I'll stop rambling now
  12. Well...looks who is claiming to be offering them £10M!
  13. One reason may be the attitude of the fans; spent too much or didn't sell him for enough. The other can be the attitude of other clubs and players. If a club is known to have a certain amount of money they they can be pressured into things they don't want or players can be priced beyond what they are worth. That has happened in the past and I am sure that any potential players we are looking at may be tempted to ask over the odds.
  14. Apparently Green affected today's result. Nice try Ally!!!
  15. I wouldn't mind that in my bank account but £1.5M doesn't go that far in business terms and certainly not in the twilight zone of football finance
  16. I think its our 5th in the top division in something like 90 years
  17. *bangs PC*...I seem to have found the wrong match thread!
  18. Although it would not make a huge difference I wonder how much additional income we would have made if the league had a sponsor and a properly funded TV, even at the rates before we started paying part of it to another division. While not completely relevant to the thread, the management of the SPFL and the statement of the present Chief Executive, that the league doesn't need a sponsor, even though we know we will get one next season if the Championship finishes the way they wish it to.
  19. Thanks for these. Interesting and informative, not that I completely understand them.
  20. I am not sure that it has anything to do with Rotherham. To read some posts the assumption must be that Saints will fall apart without May and then vanish. I think it is more a reaction to this. Apropos of the fact that the Brown's are careful with money then it is immediately assumed that Brown's only desire is to get rid rid of may as quick as possible. You may also have seen the posts that suggests that saints will let him go cheap. I find it all confusing but then i don't live in Perth these days. It is obvious that May is going to move on and sooner rather later and in this case it's better we get a transfer fee for him and not a derisory fee in compensation for developing him.
  21. It's really not that big a profit, not when you think what Saints would need if they were to try and be a regular top 6 team. The reality for that is we need a bigger sponsor and probably selling out McD every match.
  22. The defence was much more solid tonight.
