  1. I would have preferred to see Brown in the team but last week MacDonald was combative, much more than normal. Also I thought Brown had an off day, at least compared to the previous week. i would also have picked Anderson as we look more balanced with MacKay at right back.
  2. Also i don't see how he is being undervalued. Rotherham apparently didn't want to pay that paltry sum. Now apparently Wednesday are will to pay a million. If we were an English club or if he had years on his contract they'd have to pay more. That is not fair but it's how it goes. Now if Rotherham want him they have to pay more up front or make the deal much more attarctive. One can argue that Steve Brown has played this well. Rotherham made a bid and he didn't like it but kept talking and now another club has come along offering more.
  3. Then surely he would have signed a contract? I am not suggesting he wishes to go yet. Also he doesn't wish to go the club can't make him. I don't get this idea that the club/brown wants rid of him. If he doesn't go this year for a fee, then he'll go next year for next to nothing. Sadly if he signs a one year extension, we'll have all this fun again in January and maybe next summer too.Oh joy, joy!!!
  4. If so he would have had to tell Wednesday and if he didn't he'd be wasting his own time and theirs too. But clearly from Rotherham were saying they hadn't agreed anything. And so far far nothing has been agreed with Wednesday either but now we know the asking price has to £1M+. Even once it's agreed between the clubs, it is still up to May if he goes.
  5. Unfortunately you can't compare those prices to today. The English clubs know that there is not much money in Scottish football. Now if we had proper management of the league up here that would be different.
  6. If Steve Brown was as soft a touch and as desperate to see as some here think, I would suspect that Steve May would have accepted or rejected a Rotherham offer by now. As there is only one bidder and only a year on the contract some clubs would have made a quick deal by now.
  7. This morning I read a "quote" from Tommy sounding negative about keeping him, but it was vaguely written and didn't actually quote him. Then I read that the Rotherham assistant manager thinks that the talks are going badly. It also mentioned, but did not name another alternative player they have in mind. Time will tell, but is a lot slower and less fun than speculation.
  8. That implies a deal has been done and that is far from the case. It seems that Rotherham haven't met Saints valuation and want to pay in installments which saints don't want. I also read that May is just one striker they are looking at and that they will happily to switch to the other if they have a better chance. I can't remember the name so I have no idea whether he is seen as a fallback or not.
  9. I thought last night when he didn't play someone would post this on WAP. However I thought it would be one of the fiery cross and pitchfork mob! However I think he didn't play as he wasn't fit. It was just too important a game for him not to play.
  10. We are "technically" higher because of Luzern's ranking. That gave us the advantage of seeding. It doesn't mean much. Last season we were seeded too for the same reason and Minsk had more ranking points and look how gifted they were!
  11. It was at the same end. but from the distance I was at, they seemed only interested in celebrating and it didn't take long to get them off the pitch.
  12. UEFA had their own reporter at the game. I assume that this was her job.
  13. Amazing, we made it to the Guardian online newspaper with a colour photo of the celebrations and a few paragraphs on the match. I think they barely noticed the Cup Final win.
  14. I actually this is a good idea although I would imagine it's not as straight forward as it would seem. I was at the start of the Tour de France and they had a big fan zone and that was sponsored. I imagine the Cup Final one was too. One thing is certain the club would have to feel that's they're going to make money. i'd imagine with the best will in the world that if we'd lost heavily in Luzern we wouldn't get a big crowd and it'd lose money. Not sure the club would gamble on that, especially as the necessary permissions take time to get and the people getting the permissions would have to drop what they normally do.
  15. I suspect that all the space that they have would have to be cleared by a certain time, and that would probably be before the turnstiles open. It could really only happen in an area that was wasn't needed for car parking.
  16. if they weren't trying to keep and wanted money they should have just sold him so we'd have money to replace him. He is our player for another season so a new contract increases his transfer value. Unfortunately these things take time, even if his agent is playing fair with Saints, but I wish they'd hurry up and sign a deal.
  17. I ordered mine at lunchtime on Wednesday and it was there on Thursday.
  18. i'm not sure there is a doubt about the budget, rather how much it is going to cost to extend Tommy and May's contracts. Perhaps Muzz too. If these are close to being sorted out then the club would know how much it's got spare.
  19. I got my polo shirt yesterday and I didn't order it straight. It may just be that they sold lots really quickly. But maybe the underestimated the demand. If so i imagine more will be produced.
  20. Apparently Boyd wants back too.... So who will they sign to win the Premiership next season? Ronaldo, Messi? Surely they will jump at a chance to play in Glasgow?
  21. I saw my boss today for the first time in a few weeks and she asked if i'd been at the game. That gave me a chance to talk about it again.
  22. To have the 14th best assist rating ina team that couldn't score is actually not bad. Hibs certainly didn't get relegated due to him. He even took a good penalty yesterday when the pressure was on. Preston suggested on the Cup Final coverage that Lomas had lost the dressing and who knows, but perhaps that was one reason that Liam moved on. I doubt that there is a place for him now at Saints. But if there was I am sure he would give his all.
