  1. I suspect the forum is quiet because all the Saintees are watching the live text from Murray Park and enjoying seeing at least one half of TFOD are not looking quite so forceful or dark when the light shines on their finances. Thank goodness for Geoff keeping us from similar financial messes and taking us to we are at without taking the Motherwell, Kivingstone, Dundee, Hearts and Ranger sapproach! I wonder how 'clean' Celtic are as well! Would Murray Park make a good venue for our West of Scotland training? Might get it cheep!
  2. Now signed on loan according to SKY
  3. Us and Hibs also in for James Harper, midfielder wilth Hull. Come on you young guys I thought you were keeping up with the transfer info. Do your research and let us all know what his background is. I really do not want theeffort of posting info but if you cannot keep up I will have to do my own research!
  4. Lee Croft of Derby supposed to be in Saints sight - Newsnow StJohnstone. C'mon you guys thought you were on the ball with potential new signings! Anyone know anything of him?
  5. I will look out for you on SKY then - you will be the one in theflowery shirt with the sunglasses on I assume!
  6. I post very rarely but follow the chat all the time. Thanks for some real humour to cheer me up on a very very windy, wet , cold, rainy, haily snowy day in the wild west of Scotland. Hopefully the game will be on and I will get a bigger laugh watching the sheep being humped - five again would be nice! ps the game would be off if it was here so I presume Perth is getting thebest of the weather!
  7. Now he has dropped down to 6/1 - Michael O'Neil is strong at 7/2 and I assume David Weir as favourite is down to RFC wishful thinking.
  8. Do you know something Soulful? Did you place a bet after Paul Cook went home? It seems very strange that he went off the favourite list on the betting but then reappeared at number two! Also I understand their was some 'twittering' that suggested not was all dead. Can you share anything?

  10. Brian Reid 6/1 Billy Reid 16/1
  11. C'mon guys - Jody is now club captain and has managed so far to lose his bad boy image - this guy Knight can obviously score goals and Jody (who I think will replace Del boy when he moves to greater things) must believe he can handle him. Bound to be in our price bracket so could be a bafrgain or a dud but I suspect we have no choice. Give him a chance till Christmas!
  12. Standard of the Brentford post a wee bit higher than our normal standard, Nice honest post!
  13. No ... he's ineligable ... cup tied!
  14. I thoufght I had found the answer to our problems - but he has now been signed up! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-13224130
  15. Fully agree with you. What are Bolton fans saying about OC just now but would they give him up? - and Del has the same potential as OC but has to go through the learning process as well. Saturday hurt us all a lot but at the start of this season we would have taken what we have got at this stage. Perhaps the manner of Saturday is the biggest issue but there was perhaps signs of this earlier in the season in the first half collapse against Celtic - its just we fought back from the 3-0 to get some respectability. Del is right that soem of the players do not seem to be fighting for the team now - but some of the supporters who should know better are also giving up Grow up lads - if you want to support Saints this is what it is like but I still prefer this if I can have odd momnents - Hamburg, Monaco, Savo's overhead against TFOD - all of these are so much better because of days like Saturday!
  16. Just opened "Bristling with Possibilities..." to check the daye when I was last at a Saints cup final and guess what the page was ------ picture of Buck McCarry scoring the first goal against Motherwell in the semi! It must be a sign ...COYS Desperate to get another chance at the hoops since HH just missed at the start in Oct 69 - its been too long a wait so a Stevie May winner in the Final is my dream!
  17. In full agreement with the above - consistently outplayed both the old firm in the days of Jock Stein - only other Scottish manager to do this is in my lifetime is Alex Ferguson. Mind you Bobby Brown desreves a mention for what he did for Scottish football fans after he left Saints! I remember where I was when I heard the 1967 game on the radio and we became World champions by beating Alf Ramsey!
  18. Hi guys, Martin Hardie injured and sent back from Thistle.
  19. Easy mistake - especially after night shift - it was his picture in the book from the Ipswich game earlier that season that reminded me that he was actually a 'centre' when he came to us. Great captain at the time but do not recall him ever looking like much of a striker.
  20. I have tons of programmes in my loft including some of the early ones so if you need to check let me know! Must collate them sometime so it would be a good excuse!
  21. Having seem my first Saints games on 28th Nov 1964 I should know this one but I had to go to Bristling with ... as well. Someone is not doing their research properly. Benny came as a centre forward and was playing in season 65/66 - first game I think was v Dundee 19/3/66 - John KIlgannon winner at 1-0. Cigarette burn on back of my parka from Dundee fan! Firs goal against Falkirk away the following week! See page 129 signed in March from DUtd!
  22. Great night and put to rest all the moans about various players - we now know what these guys can do. One of the many positives from last night was the strength of the bench ... and the treatment room. Savo, Milne and Swankie have all shown they can perform at the top level and Paul Sheerin had a super game at Killie until he went off, Connolly must be a major prospect and we have an up and coming goalkeeper in the chap Main!
  23. Great result but not better than the Aberdeen game - will we be printing copies of the sports page of the Scotsman and printing it on t-shirts for this one like we did with the Aberdeen P&J. Same result on Saturday however and legends will be made. PS - was this not the gamde when a legend of ours was compared with footballs greats (he was only missing out on the pace!) or was that another legendary result?
  24. Like reading the threads but do not normally post as most of you guys seem to know each other so I feel like I am butting in. However having moved away when I was eighteen and having three kids and one grandaughter supporting Saints then my credentials are good. At the Killie game where my three year granddaughter is shouting Come on Ye Saints in a Motherwell accent is sweet revenge on all the Celtic and Rangers scarfs at school in the 60,s and 70's. First saw Saints live in 64/65 season 0-3 against Hearts and 1-3 against Dunfermline - you get used to losing and that makes the wins feel so great - Jim Townsend thunderbolt to beat Rangers at Muirton in 66/67 in my memory was only for a draw according to the book! We did thrash Rangers at Ibrox with an overhead winner from Savo did'nt we? I heard Johnny Beattie on the radio before the Wales game on Saturday obviously looking forward to the game and saying that this is what makes you feel that "life is for living" - thats what makes me go and see Saints - no matter how low you feel that feeling waiting for the game to start never goes away - and even when you lose you know there is always hope! Who would have thought I would see them play in Monaco, what a team, Come on ye Saints!
