@LU1901 - What is the expected crowd for this game? Last year the fans in Norway did not turn out in force due to their assumption that they would just easily beat us. We are hoping for more atmosphere from you guys!

Oh Mongy get off your high horse and get to the game, you saved 850 quid by not going to Norway after all. Your telling me that a member of the MacDonald clan is going to drive past McDiarmid on the day of one of the biggest games in the clubs history and feel like he is doing the right thing?

Firat is coming over for the Ross County game on 17 Aug and he will still be over for the Dundee United Away game on 24 Aug. I am sure he will be looking forward to saying hi to all he has met on his Norwegian travels.

If only Saints had the resources availalbe on tap that you all think they have. Infact if they even had a tenth of the resources some people think they have they would be a PR juggernaut, facts are that they have not therefore go to the places where they are making an effort i.e. Facebook and Twitter even if you do think they are shite.

Sounds a great idea if you ask me, not surprised by posting it on here though that its attracted the usual goons! I am almost 100% sure that not all games between 2 sides in the Europa League kindles the types of relationships that were forged with EsEs fans over the last few weeks. The singing alone at the 2nd leg would have the hair standing on end of many a hardened footie fan. I would be happy to see Saints forge a formal affiliation with Eskisehirspor to acknowledge the feel good factor that this tie brought.

If we got the ferry from Bakirkoy to Kadikoy and then wanted to get the bus to Eskisehir would we get the bus from Harem Otogari? This could be the quickest way out of Istanbul? (none of us will ever be sober to even consider driving)

We looked at this way already but it turned out to be a bit convoluted with alot of changes and hanging around so although travel time was shorter the entire journey time and hassle factor made it a non starter.

I am traveling with Tommyboy like he said we arrive at 15.45 from Aberdeen via Amsterdam. Then we are getting the metro direct to Esenlar Otogar straight away so that we can hpefully get the 6pm or 7pm bus down to Eskisehir, if you want to join our merry band on the bus then feel free to, you won't miss us i think!

How long does the bus take from Bursa to Eskisehir? We were just intending getting bus from Esenlar but this might prove a quicker option.

6 of us arriving in Istanbul 15.45 on Weds and heading straight to Eskisehir. Happy to get a shared bus but guessing if it was Weds it left it will be before we arrive so likely we will get the public bus from Esenlar to Eskisehir which seems pretty straightforward (with a carry oot in tow)

What district is everyone staying in in Istanbul? It's a sprawling city be easier to know where the bus would likely depart from.

5 of us on the KLM flights out of Aberdeen on the Weds 6am arriving in Istanbul 15.45. Another one flying out of Manc and meeting us in Amsterdam for same flight to Istanbul. Guessing there is going to be a fair contingent of Saintees in Schnipol for the flight to Istanbul. Waiting on confirmation of opposition and venue before deciding accomodation and travel arrangements. Perhaps once confirmation is in we can start a thread for all Istanbul based Saints allowing exchange of relevant info and possible sharing of buses etc?

Aberdeen to Istanbul flying out on the Weds morning back on the Sat evening booked, 255 return, done.

Sadly its not a rumour. As big a loss as any this close season, worked his socks off for our beloved Saints.
