    Car Park

Traffic management around the ground is surely a Police Scotland issue? The club will have to learn from it though and make visiting clubs aware of potential delays so they can in turn advise their own supporters. The traffic problems began a full 1.5 hours before kick off. I got stuck trying to head down Crieff Road at the new lights section when the original lights at the Tulloch Terrace junction were stuck on red and clearly not working. Many Hibs fans were already arriving late due to roadworks on the M90 causing significant delays and then anyone who followed the road signs advising football traffic to go to Inveralmond instead of coming off at Dobbies was just screwed from that point on. Police used to control traffic exiting the ground and also at the Tulloch Terrace lights as they used to switch them off to improve traffic flow. I haven’t seen this happen for a while now. Is it something to do with the club having police free matches? If they’re not attending at the stadium, they’re also not attending for traffic control around the stadium?
  2. Judging by the BBC coverage of the incident Keith Watson was also in the technical area.
  3. What they are saying is correct. The fact that they are not former professional goalkeepers or goalkeeping coaches doesn't change that. His failure, or inability to command the box at 90% of set pieces puts us under a lot of pressure. He doesn't come for cross balls a lot and when he does he's pretty bad at it. I'm not a goalkeeping coach either, by the way.
  4. The biggest barrier McKay has to playing regularly is Anderson doesn't seem to be as comfortable next to him as he is with Joe or Scobbie. I think it's because he prefers to be the right sided central defender. Does Joe not play the left centre with Ando? Obviously Tam does. I think Ando looks weaker when he plays there and that's where he was yesterday. It certainly didn't look as comfortable for him so can't see that working long term. McKay's own performances in last two games hasn't dented his chances.
  5. Thank you for saying this! I asked my dad why it is always so bloody cold, wet and windy in Motherwell. That's twice I've been there at the start(ish) of a season and it's been bloody freezing. Left a warm, sunny Perth yesterday and took a jacket because I'd seen the forecast in Motherwell wasn't as nice but my god. That place is just baltic.
  6. Again? I'll give you this one but I don't think he's been anonymous in any other games. He plays better centrally IMO. Need Spoony back to allow this to happen.
  7. Out for a month. Apologies in advance if you're just making some strange joke.
  8. Strip does look better in person than the photos. I actually quite like it although I don't like the sponsors logo but it is what it is. He's paying his money!
  9. I have to say I don't think he looks anything like Novak Djokovic!
  10. I've seen him twice now. Felt he was infinitely better in the middle on Tuesday than out wide but he was good out there today. Early days but he and Watson look like they've played together for a long time. They also like to be direct so we can look forward to Alston storming into the box and trying to get goals and Watson pinging a cross in every time he gets close. Seems criminal to have let John Sutton go now. Nobody really there to meet the numerous crosses today. With Davidson and Spoony still to come back, we look sorted in midfield. Exciting times.
  11. Not quite as confrontational as the post you deleted...
  12. So to him it was a pay as you play deal because the basic was so paltry it was almost nothing
  13. Dear Ross, I would be more than happy to volunteer my time to help you with your match day media work. Problem solved.
  14. I don't believe pay per play deals - the way fans think of them - actually exist. If a player was injured for six months he would not earn a thing because he wasn't playing? Would the player claim statutory sick pay from the government and pick up £300 a month to live on? I doubt it. It's more likely a hugely reduced salary with appearance bonuses than zero money unless you play. The manager wouldn't necessarily pick the player every week even if he was fit. So in the event the player is fit but doesn't play for tactical/form related reasons, that opens up a legal can of worms for the club surely? Player: "I was fit and they refused to play me because it would cost them £10k every time I played" Club: "The manager didn't pick him for tactical reasons/other players were playing better" Player: "I trained 5 days a week and was available for match day selection but earned no money because they chose not to play me" The Michael Owen scenario - I would be far more inclined to believe it was a reduced basic salary with lucrative appearance bonuses than this notion that he earned nothing (zilch) unless he played. I think that sort of contract was made up on football supporters forums. It would be verging on slave labour if you employed someone and only offered to pay them if they played. If they don't play they aren't even earning minimum wage. Too many potential pitfalls for clubs to even consider it an option I think.
  15. Goodwillie has done nothing in the game in the last year to put him in the enviable position of being able to pick and choose what kind of club he goes to. He needs to resurrect his career now or it'll be a steady downward spiral from here.
  16. If you think this is bad, read the other thread about Paton.
  17. Can anyone confirm if the direct debit scheme is done by Saints or if they use a company to handle it for them?
  18. I think it's a different award. This is the Ladbrokes award whereas the other one is the SPFL which I think Mark Warburton won - ridiculously. Houston won the Championship manager of the season as voted for by Ladbrokes.
  19. Been to Belfast several times in last couple of years. I love it! Late flight from Edinburgh after work on the Friday, back on the Sunday... Shame it's not more games though!

    208 boozer

I can't believe you're actually defending what you said by offending people further. Naturally lots of people would rather live in a 7 bed Victorian villa on Kinnoull hill than a 3 bedroom former council house in Tulloch but for 99% of people that's a bit far reaching. I don't actually know anyone who could afford to live there. I've only met two people in my entire life who have lived there and neither of them do now, as it was their parents houses. In Tulloch, the street I live on is full of people who own their own homes, we all have cars and work for a living. There are a few young couples and families starting out in life plus a good few retired couples (who used to work, funnily enough). There's no trouble, everyone knows everyone else and lots of us have lived here for a very long time. The houses don't look as nice as the ones in Oakbank or Kinnoull Hill and its maybe not your cup of snobbish tea but to describe it as a "shite part of town" is offensive to the people who live there. There are small pockets that are perhaps less desirable (I.e. down by the shops) in both Letham and Tulloch but by and large, no problems. Certainly in Tulloch, people take pride in their gardens, there's no rubbish strewn about or stuff lying dumped about the place. I don't go to Letham much so can't say too much about it but know lots of people who live there who never complain about it. The 208 in its current state is not pleasant and nobody has disagreed with you there. I said it has potential to be something better and outlined the ways in which that could happen. You're just assuming the area it's in is full of folk who can't afford to eat out or go out for a few drinks therefore couldn't support it. I'm sure that may be true for some people but I'm telling you - from personal experience, having actually lived here - that your view point doesn't actually speak for the majority. You are making a crass generalisation based on an ignorant opinion of the place. I have plenty of disposable income and regularly eat out. Incidentally I know a few people who live in Oakbank who don't have a lot of disposable income because they've rooked themselves trying to live in a house they can barely afford. Stop being so narrow minded and judgemental.
  21. Their answer to the foul count yesterday is "the referees hate us". They actually had a discussion on their board as to whether or not they've had a genuine "homer" ref this season. The answer was a resounding "they all hate us". Absolutely nothing to do with them just being the dirtiest team going.
  22. Thought Craig, Spoony and Swanson owned the match. Gave my vote to Liam for single handedly winding up the entirety of the home support and ending up with a thread dedicated to him on their forum. Loved the GIRUY fist pump after his goal too. He's a legend! Played another fantastic game in central midfield.
  23. Being described as a physical team by a Hearts fan in their match thread. Suggesting "physical teams like St.Johnstone" put them off their game and discipline. Haha!!!!
