Gekko got a reaction from Willie Peat in Summer 2025 transfer window
The player that everybody is referring to had a different situation though, even Eric hinted at it in the Spoony Chop last week.
We all know the name, but out of respect, none of us are quoting it.
Of course it's not a requirement, but a simple, quick thank you would have been enough.
It's easy to do in these days of social media.
It's like if you'd bought somebody dinner, then they left without saying anything. You're not expecting gratitude, but it'd be nice to get some. It's basic manners.
Anyway, good post from Makenzie. I hope he goes on to big things.

For me, the transfer window as a whole has been far better than those of the past few years.
The fact that it wasn't a major worry when 11pm arrived and we hadn't signed anybody, is a major improvement.
We can of course, now sign free agents and get loans from the Premiership until the end of the month.
We also have those arrangements with Hearts and Cove, so there could be ins and outs still to happen.
I'd have liked an experienced keeper to back up and challenge Steward. That would also mean Sinclair could be loaned out for some game time.
Another striker would have been handy to replace Kirk, but that was probably what Lloyd was brought in for.
If Sidibeh isn't playing, we miss his speed and playing style. Kirk was similar but nobody else really fills that role.
Simo didn't want a huge squad, so I suppose you can't add many more without players getting annoyed that they're not playing.
They all seem to go on about it being a good dressing room, so Simo will be wanting to keep it that way.
I was a bit concerned that a Premiership club might make a bid for McPake, so glad that didn't happen. Or if it did, it obviously wasn't accepted.
So a good window all round, with the chance to still make adjustments.
Good work from the management team.

It says a lot when we come away from a game with a draw and it feels like a defeat, such was our dominance. The players head in hands and slumped on the turf at full time as well. It's a massive change in attitude from what we've seen the last 4 years. These guys looked like they took a pride in their performances today and we're disappointed they came up short. With attitude like that, I'm confident for the rest of the season.
They look like they're all invested in each other like a proper, close team, not the assembly of journeymen individuals we've seen in the recent past.
I like it, Saints have their Mojo back!

Maybe if we treat supporters awards as some kind of "special recognition", rather than a Hall of fame place?
Although I realise it has the potential to also cause problems.
"My Dad is better than your Dad" kind of thing. Who has the final say?
As for the Tommy statue, I'd have it at the front door of the stadium as you arrive. Although it depends on it's size whether there's enough room.
For what it's worth, I'm in favour of statues of exceptional people and achievements.
For example at Manchester United, they have one of Sir Alex, and another of Law, Charlton and Best. Leeds United have Billy Bremner, Wigan Athletic have the old owner Dave Whelan holding the F.A. Cup, and so on.
I know it's A.I. and all the problems it creates, but for interest, I asked it to create a statue from the photograph. Here it is...

Gekko got a reaction from sixties saintee in Hall of Fame Nominations
Sixties Saintee made a good shout above, with a supporter getting recognition.
I know we're getting to the point of the nominations being overcrowded, but how many people do we know, who have dedicated their spare time to the club?
They did raffles on the supporter's bus, organised events on their own time and the like.
Maybe we should have the event more regular than we currently do as Strawman suggested?
Anyway, my nominees for this time are...
    Sandy McLaren
    Tommy Wright
    David Wotherspoon
Stan Harris (Bev gets the award next time)
Along with Alistair Stevenson, who we already know is getting an award.
Also, a special supporters award for somebody like Sam McKenna, as Sixties Saintee mentioned.
ETA: Add me to the list of people who'd like a Tommy Wright statue of him holding the cup.

I was thinking similar about Ormond and Geoff. They already have stands, so do they need a Hall of Fame place as well?
If the Campbell suite is named after Robert Campbell, maybe more of a plaque, or some kind of explanation on the reason it's called that.

    Sandy McLaren for me.
    The first Saints international.
Still the youngest goalkeeper to play for Scotland.
Also, one of only four eighteen year olds to play for Scotland in the twentieth century. Denis law, Paul McStay and Willie Henderson being the others. Good company, and he was way before any of them.
He was also a local lad.
    Here's his Wikipedia page:
    Sandy McLaren - Wikipedia
ETA: He's also, still, St. Johnstone's most capped Scotland player.

From main site, it looks like the Hall of Fame is being resumed this year, the last one being in 2019.

I’m not convinced by this cooperation agreement.
Yes, we’re getting the player for free, and when you’re losing money in the Championship, that’s a good thing. But the problem is exactly what’s happened.
He arrives, gets to know the squad, travels to Dingwall in Saints gear, does interviews saying he’s enthusiastic about the season, and by Monday, he’s back down the road.
It must mess with his head as well.
I’ve no issue with Hearts or McInnes doing this, it’s all within the rules. But it’s not an arrangement I’d imagine we'd want to keep going.
I also don’t like the idea of us being “little” St Johnstone. We’ve won three cups since the last time Hearts did.
We should be seeing them as potential rivals, instead of taking in their fringe players, no matter how talented they might be.
I know we're currently in the league below, but I’d like us to think bigger, and act bigger.
I like the player, not the deal.

I'd keep the centre backs the same. Baird and Diabate have earned their right to stay as the first choice.
There should be reward for doing well.
It's up to Boyes to break back in to the team, and for the first choices to keep their place.
