That's true - and if he's old enough to remember (the magnificent) Tam McNeil, he should know better!

I made up for it by retracting my seething comments the following morning. I am never incorrect. Whenever I am in danger of being incorrect, I realise I'm incorrect before I'm proved to be incorrect.

I'm reasonably OK with this signing. I don't know what was going through my head last night. Don't think we could find much better at this stage, but I was venting my frustrations precisely because of that. If Tommy had been allowed funds earlier, he could have made a serious beeline for one of his primary targets. That opportunity has gone though. Given the amount of time until the transfer window closes, it's a decent move. His goal-scoring record isn't that bad and Saints are the club to get the best out of players who have maybe become a bit disillusioned elsewhere.

Welcome to St. Johnstone, Brian Graham. Look forward to seeing you banging in the goals.

Sounds like a great idea, although 85/86 and 86/87 were a whole lot more horrific... and more of a laugh looking back

Some of the members on here amuse me. They spend the whole close season since the Cup win critisising the board for everything apart from the weather, but most of all for not signing any new players. Now we have three on board in Morgan, Lappin and Graham, yet people still want to be critical before even seeing Graham play for us. Graham has a decent scoring record per starting appearances and I trust Tommy. Lappin appeared from off the radar, and from the short time I saw him on Saturday I think he will be a decent acquisition. Graham will also be wearing a Saints shirt from now on so let's reserve judgement and get behind him and the club!!!

Another episode passes with Brown's explanation of events and TW signing on - a good outcome all told

Unlike some, I have no issues with people using a forum to discuss their thoughts, whether their predictions / opinions turned out to be correct or not.

Long may we use a forum to discuss whatever issue / talking point / uncertainty comes along next, and continue to get comments that represent all sides of an argument

So many Saints fans seem to be so in the know about the goings on behind the scenes at the club. I remember when TW took over as manager from Lomas and was in the press talking about how he understood the financial constraints at the club better than his predecessor and was happy to work with and support the chairman in ensuring the team was built within the budget the club deemed affordable.

Fast forward one year and all of a sudden it's not only a problem to Tommy Wright but it angers him enough to make him want to resign as manager with no other job to go to? All a matter of weeks after saying how much he loved it here and how settled he and his wife were in Perth? Of course he's going to try and push the chairman as much as possible for funds to improve the team. He wouldn't be doing his job otherwise. However I don't get this impression that so many others seem to get that there is some major breakdown in the relationship between chairman and manager.

The most depressing thing about the club so far this summer has been this bloody forum.

Unbelievable the attitude of some Saints supporters.....

That's three years in a row in Europe and a very creditable performance just a few hours ago.

Get a bloody grip. If some of these pathetic posters had lived through the Lamond years ( pre Geoff) there's no way they'd be Saints supporters. This is our best period in our history. Sure soiled by last month's inactivity on the transfer / resigning front - but compare that with how it felt when we lost 5-1 at home to Meadowbank, 5-0 at Montrose, 9-2 at Hibs, 4-0 at Stenny. I was at these games - and many more. I know what it felt like when we were truly awful - and it's one helluva lot worse than in the aftermath of a 1-1 draw away from home in our third Euro qualification in a row.

Repeat - get a bloody grip. We are St Johnstone FC not bloody Juventus.

May will go and Tommy will get money to rebuild. It's only 48 weeks until we 're back in Europe

    hi guys
1st of all ,,unlucky last night ..i did watch the game and in my opinion you just didnt quite cut the mustard in the 2nd half after a good 1st half display..
i have been reading this thread from the start as im sure many other millers have ,,i havnt come to have a dig ,although some of the comments deserve it
for what its worth i cant see may coming to us now other clubs are involved,,unless ofcourse the appcepted bid and reported talks between player and us are genuine and the player himself likes what is on offer
yes there are bigger clubs some even MASSIVE (in thier own words) tabling a bid
i dont pretend to know much about your league..but mays goals do tend to speak for themself ,,some of the comments on here about going straigh back down and fighting a relegation battle all season are quite pathetic really ,,its strange how both time we have gone up we have had the same old negative vibe each time only to gain back to back promtions ,,last time staying in championship for 4 years ...we have a much better squad this time around and i feel very confident that we will beat the drop comfortably ..even the bookies have 4 teams below us

what ever happens to mr may ,,i hope he goes on to greater things in the epl and you can all be proud of him even more than you already show to be
one last thing to mention and that is all the best for the for coming season

haha, i understand that going thru teamsheets and ticking off player after player is now the biggest weapon of scottish teams

now everybody's looking forward to the draw later today. would be nice to get e.g. spurs, celtic, sparta prague or hull (if our neighbours from as trencin almost succeeded against them, spartak could try to avenge them).

the only shame is that trnava's new ground is still one huge building site.

believe me, that i don't like play acting too (even from my own team) and if you asked my mates they would confirm that i moaned about it the second martin vyskocil (or whoever it was) fell to the ground and it was absolutely obvious that his only intention was to waste time.

i also don't like diving or biting opponent's arm and overall i prefer the style of the game you play on the isles.
that's why more or less i just look out for trnava's results and consider myself to be a fierce supporter of colchester united fc, but that is a different chapter.
