  1. Don't we have an option of another year anyway? Use the option and get a fee surely even if it is small.
  2. Surely can’t be all we’re getting in. Very thin on the ground for the cup games with no McCann and McNamara and Robertson and Olaofe away. Strange this 14 day isolation when players can come in down south and be exempt from that due to their testing etc.
  3. Yep, as they have returned to work and that is no different to any industry or line of work. Im not sure why that is relevent to my response around the supposed praise that Raith are getting for furloughing players who were going to be released anyway As i said, the very purpose of the furlough scheme....
  4. Is this not by definition the purpose of furlough? It is a job retention scheme to try and keep people employed who would normally be made redundant. If Raith or anyone else are extending contracts short term with the sole purpose of keeping them on furlough then yeah, see where you're coming from.
  5. General belief was that May was walking away from Aberdeen without any pay off. This means I guess he is likely to want as close to his current wage elsewhere. If we can’t match it and May himself clearly wants to come to us, are we trying to help negotiate a payment from Aberdeen which sees him released and us then being able to get closer to what he would want?
  6. Love the way we roll! The support are up in arms about the May deal collapsing so we'll give them a lift by announcing Vihmann only to shatter them again with the news that Clarks new deal isn't forthcoming. The life of a Saints fan!
  7. I don't think anyone is denying that his desire to sign for St Johnstone wasn't there. Is it inconceivable however to think that his desire to earn more coin wasn't greater?
  8. I'm not particularly convinced by your belief that it is our prudence that allows us to compete with the "big guns" or even that we "constantly" do that. A season here and there finishing above expectation recently has perhaps clouded your memory.
  9. Not to mention the fact the McMillan who likely would have taken said spot in the squad is alienated further by being sent to play in a Saints XI against Blairgowrie. It is looking increasingly likely now that we will need to run with him as an attacking option this season.
  10. Makes it all the more annoying that Vine was there given all that had gone on. Almost like he was there to gloat.
  11. I'd suggest the fact that he is almost 37 and not played in the top league for a number of years, could be just as big a problem
  12. Signing for Utd on Monday apparently.
  13. I wouldn’t have to as it tends to be fairly forthcoming on the job advert. It’s also not something that puts me up nor down. Football can often be quite transparent in that regard too. Different strokes and all that.
  14. Born in Perth but I’ll allow you to be pedantic and over scrupulous all you like. Have a nice day.
  15. You can’t? He’s from Perth and happens to remain in touch with people from Perth, who knew!? As i said, what I’m not sure of is in what capacity it was and I didn’t say who the offer was made to.
  16. Had heard last Friday it was looking like he was coming back. Not sure in what capacity It was though. Think we had offered around the £2k mark. Not heard anything since though so who knows.
  17. Alternative points of view and healthy discussion, yes. Not quite how you came across initially. Your belief however that we could release McMillan and go into the season with Kane and Hendry alone is questionable at best.
  18. Jesus! You now can’t see my point or Widge’s. Not sure that a forum or football for that matter is for you. Do you actually have a point yourself or are you intent on trying to start an argument!? Also stickers? Sounds like something you’d find on the list of Rangers creditors beside the face painter. It’s strikers we need!
  19. If you actually read it, it is quite clear. If McMillan leaves, he feels we need two strikers. Tend to agree. Do I think that will happen though, probably not.
  20. Still very much between us and Utd from what I am being led to believe. No idea whether it is a loan or permanent deal but as you'd expect, Utd's offer beats ours. Theirs is in the same ball park of what we very publicly offered him when he left for Wednesday. At the time the suggestion was that, that would have made him the highest paid player in our history if i remember correctly.
  21. So we told him at the beginning of last year he was free to find another club yet he went on to sign a new one year deal. Something not adding up there for me.
  22. Is that code for i realise i was being a tool and I'm going to pretend i was fishing!? Sounds like it.
