I can't say I'm surprised if this is true. He's currently sitting in the stand at Pittodrie and no one else seems interested in him.

Does that mean he'll be easier to deal with though? Or should that be Brown will be easier to deal with?

General belief was that May was walking away from Aberdeen without any pay off. This means I guess he is likely to want as close to his current wage elsewhere.

If we can’t match it and May himself clearly wants to come to us, are we trying to help negotiate a payment from Aberdeen which sees him released and us then being able to get closer to what he would want?

Are you alright? I didn’t say anything about May failing a medical.

Listen carefully... you do not put yourself forward to undergo a medical at a football club unless you are more than willing/ready to sign on the dotted line.

The process of a medical is one that is not massively desirable for players and Stevie May would not have put himself through one if his desire wasn’t to sign for St.Johnstone.

I don't think anyone is denying that his desire to sign for St Johnstone wasn't there. Is it inconceivable however to think that his desire to earn more coin wasn't greater?

I don't want to be disrespectful to you but I think you are confusing our budget with a " Hearts" or "Aberdeen" type pay roll.

Prudence will always be our strategy and it's why we as a wee club constantly compete with the big guns.

I'm not particularly convinced by your belief that it is our prudence that allows us to compete with the "big guns" or even that we "constantly" do that. A season here and there finishing above expectation recently has perhaps clouded your memory.

Alan Kernaghans wage was over £2.5k a week and May was apparently offered the biggest wage in our history.

Tommy Wright has confirmed the club intended to play him on Wednesday.

Do you think the club have willingly ran with a reduced squad on Wednesday, pissing of the manager and fans, to try and save some money?

Its fairly obvious its at Mays side that its collapsed, Vine whispering in an opposition managers ear at McDiarmid the same day talks collapse absolutely reeks aswell, btw. He wasn't invited to the game by Saints.

Not to mention the fact the McMillan who likely would have taken said spot in the squad is alienated further by being sent to play in a Saints XI against Blairgowrie.

It is looking increasingly likely now that we will need to run with him as an attacking option this season.

Been confirmed we ran with 6 subs on Wednesday because May was expected to be in the squad.

Shows how far along the deal was, and helps highlight how it was the players decision to halt the deal. The club wouldn't have left themselves short if they'd intended to pull out.

Makes it all the more annoying that Vine was there given all that had gone on. Almost like he was there to gloat.

Not doubting you but in all honesty would you go round telling your mates how much you are getting offered in a new job? I certainly wouldn't.

I wouldn’t have to as it tends to be fairly forthcoming on the job advert. It’s also not something that puts me up nor down. Football can often be quite transparent in that regard too. Different strokes and all that.

I really cannot understand how folk can say on a public forum with any cerainty what a player has been offered, also as said above if it is a loan deal the offer will be to Aberdeen and not the player

You can’t? He’s from Perth and happens to remain in touch with people from Perth, who knew!? As i said, what I’m not sure of is in what capacity it was and I didn’t say who the offer was made to.

Surely to **** that's not double what we have offered

Had heard last Friday it was looking like he was coming back. Not sure in what capacity It was though. Think we had offered around the £2k mark. Not heard anything since though so who knows.

Guess there is 2 of you so you must be right. No argument intended just an alternative point of view. If altrrnative views are not welcome on this forum then what is the point?

Alternative points of view and healthy discussion, yes. Not quite how you came across initially. Your belief however that we could release McMillan and go into the season with Kane and Hendry alone is questionable at best.

I did read it, if I hadn't I would not have commented, so McMillan goes, we still have 2 stickers Hendry & Kane still can't see your point??

Jesus! You now can’t see my point or Widge’s. Not sure that a forum or football for that matter is for you. Do you actually have a point yourself or are you intent on trying to start an argument!? Also stickers? Sounds like something you’d find on the list of Rangers creditors beside the face painter. It’s strikers we need!

ITK guy on P&B saying he heard the deal for May is pretty much done. Doesnt say if its loan or permanent.

    Glorious.

Still very much between us and Utd from what I am being led to believe. No idea whether it is a loan or permanent deal but as you'd expect, Utd's offer beats ours. Theirs is in the same ball park of what we very publicly offered him when he left for Wednesday. At the time the suggestion was that, that would have made him the highest paid player in our history if i remember correctly.

His contract expired last Summer, but he signed an extension on reduced terms. He'd signed a 2 year deal in 2015.

So we told him at the beginning of last year he was free to find another club yet he went on to sign a new one year deal. Something not adding up there for me.

    Former players for this nonsense

    Other forum for that nonsense!

Former player who is likely still in contract until the end of the month! Also one in particular that the majority of fans would have liked to stay and therefore will want to see fixed up somewhere as soon as possible.

Aside from that, he is also in the middle of his testimonial year with a game to come next month! Deserves a lot more respect than that!

Somebody from the club just phoned me that the supplier has confirmed a delivery of all shirts by the end of next week and that everyone should have them within a fortnight (of today).

I had the same phone call yesterday. The first call I've had granted since I ordered it more than two months ago.

Appreciate it may not have been the clubs fault but for all the time it took the guy to call and update me, more of that level of communication would have helped.

Saints did run out of footballs at the end of last season - I tried to buy a mini-ball for my son and they had none left in stock!

Anyway, I received my shirt a couple of weeks' back. It's good quality, looks excellent and the missus said it helped disguise my belly, so I'm happy enough with it! Disappointing to hear not everyone has received it, although lets not jump to the conclusion that its Saints fault.

I meant match balls but even still, poor show.

I also am happy to hear it disguises the belly!
