  1. I've been keeping track of it this season and out of the 30 predictions (Both Amy Irons and Guest), I've got it as 1 win predicted, 7 draws and 22 losses. It's a miracle that we've got any points at all!!
  2. What are you on about? There was only one team attempting to win that game of football and I’ll give you a clue, it wasn’t Motherwell. The system was working and causing then issues, why change it? The space was out wide with the fullbacks due to the wide players coming inside. All 2 up top would have meant, was us going long and losing every ball to Gallagher.
  3. Well done to Ali who’s starting for the full Northern Ireland team tonight. Good luck to him, he’s going to need it based on the state of the rest of the team!!
  4. I mean I don't think there's any debate that he's been injured. He has...
  5. I mean apart from the betfred cup games that’s pretty much exclusively where he’s played. I think he’s known it since the first game of the season.
  6. Well they've not broken any social distancing rules have they? They're allowed to be in close proximity to their teammates, hence why they must isolate for 14 days. There is no complaints about this, it's the rules laid down to anyone from any walk of life, if you've been in contact with someone with the virus, you isolate for 14 days. The complaint is presumably because they get tested several times a week and thus there shouldn't be any real need to isolate; however the stats show it can hide in the system for 14 days and as such that's the rules.
  7. Christie is self isolating because he was in Stuart Armstrong's room playing on the playstation. He hasn't broken any rules since they train together and are all in a competitive sports bubble, there is no need to socially distance (in fact it's literally not possible ), but due to Armstrong testing positive he has to islolate as protocol. Armstrong could have gotten it from anywhere, a family member, his club team, a coach, a flight attendant. There's no way of knowing where and when players catch it, but a positive case doesn't mean that a player has broken the rules, they could literally catch it at the supermarket the same way any of us could. A player testing positive isn't a clear sign of rule breaking.
  8. I mean given the only team other than Hibs he's ever played for was Saints, this is just showing a genuine lack of Scottish football knowledge.
  9. So he missed a tackle from 30 yards out (not unlike many players tonight) and it’s his fault the keeper lets practically a daisy cutter go in from that distance. Whereby he could pick the ball up if he simply stood still in the middle of the goals. Aye alright, May as well blame Hendry for not closing down the original long ball if that’s how blame is being apportioned.
  10. Surely this is a wind up? The only person at fault for that goal is Parish who let a tame shot from 25/30 yards go in virtually to the centre of the goal.
  11. Except for the fact he’s played the exact same formation as last season for 3/4 games and is using the very same players in the same positions. Looking at it this season, Tommy Wright maybe got lucky that Callum Hendry hit a run of form to win us as many points as he did.
  12. Transfers don't happen instantly and if you didn't notice we played a game yesterday which is more important. I really don't think the likes of Hibs and Aberdeen are going to be signing a player they probably hadn't even heard off based on the fact we want to sign him. It's not like teams put weeks of scouting and research into their targets, but you carry on believing that teams sign players on a whim. I won't even get into the fact that just about every other team in the league has an abundance of strikers (bar Dundee United) and none are likely to be adding any to their squads.
  13. Another day, another ridiculously negative comment from Cagey. Get a grip!
  14. He left about 3/4 years ago to join another company. At which point the media engagement from saints truly suffered.
  15. Clearly apathy around saints right now, but I don't think it's just us. This whole situation seems to have the footballing community down in the dumps. Just score some goals and win, it's easy really! Last season our games against Livi were quite defining and here's hoping Callum Hendry finds the net against them once again!
  16. Whilst I agree and it's clear we're probably running with the smallest squad in the league this year, bar maybe Hamilton you also have to weight up the benefit of staying in the league and the prize money on offer. We let a lot of players go and we've clearly cut our wage bill by quite a but this season, I'd say there's probably a budget been set taking into account no fans at all (lets face it we always budget worst case and that was definitely it!), so if there's room for 1 more player then I think we can all rest assured we can afford it, plus Brown will have signed it off. I agree we have good enough players, our starting XI is more than a match and better than quite a number of the bottom 10 teams; however you only need to see that if we get a few injuries we're in trouble as our early season benches showed. One more player isn't going to kill the club off and if it's the difference in staying up or being top 6, then better hope Callum makes the most of his one chance!
  17. It's a specialist position, hence they train away from the other players most of the time. Of course they need a coach to work with, even if it's just to set up drills and tell them what to do. How else would a manager know who's been performing better out of the goalies if he doesn't have someone watching them who's an "expert". As for the comment about punting balls, sure that's what you may see pre-match, but to suggest that's all they do is pretty offensive to goalie coaches.
  18. It’s clear that the system is hampered by playing O’Halloran. Technically and tactically he cannot and never has been able to play up front. There were times yesterday that Hendry won a flick I’m only to see O’Halloran standing next to him instead of anticipating the ball. For all people can go on about the system, it does work. We’ve been the better team against Aberdeen (albeit a weakened one), Hibs and now Motherwell. Had we taken the clear chances we created we’d be sitting with 7 more points right now and a much healthier GD from the St Mirren game. The defence is doing their job, the midfielders are arguably doing theirs. That means it’s the strikers who are the issue and not playing 2 natural ones first and foremost is the issue. I’d also rather see Spoony in behind as he gives McCann a bit more freedom as he’s got the ability to step back. Conway just doesn’t offer the same goals and creativity as Spoony. If we are bringing players in, right now I hope it’s firstly a midfielder and I’m almost swaying towards a striker now. Especially since Kane has 3 months to earn another deal at saints.
  19. Don’t agree with the first part. I can think of 7/8 opportunities already this season which should have been goals, including 3 today. We are creating chances, the strikers just aren’t taking them yet.
  20. The likes of SSE put 6 figure sums into saints a year to use the conference facilities. That's just one company, whilst I suspect they're the biggest, there will be plenty of others who use it. Plus the function suites for events and wakes, etc. We'll not be making a lot on those right now, this is possibly offset by virtue of their being a skeleton staff at the stadium and little or no overheads. Once the furlough scheme ends, suspect saints will be looking at making the conference suites totally compliant with social distancing guidance to allow them to be used. Positive is, now that outdoor football is allowed, people might start using the astro turf pitch again. Don't know if saints will want that though given the slight risks involved.
  21. We're not playing with wingers, why would we sign one, who was by and large anonymous for Hibs on loan? Lee, Haring and Halkett are probably on £15k a week between them, zero chance we'd even get close to their wages, plus ones average, ones a perma-crock and ones overweight and looked crap last season.
  22. No, Liam Craig shows too little brain power at times.
  23. It doesn’t work, I hate to say it, but Michael O’Halloran can simply not be trusted as part of a tactical formation. He doesn’t have the intelligence and can literally only be of use facing the oppositions goal and running very fast in a straight line. How many coaches have now tried to teach him positional awareness and how to find space to no avail!
  24. Ummm...this game is being played in Kilmarnock, so it definitely isn't!!
