  1. Facial expression says it all. What a steaming pile of guff. Is there red on back or is it picture glitch.
  2. The saltires must go, kit is otherwise poor but entirely within the realms of acceptability. Morton fans managed to get a change to their kit, maybe those itk posters could do something similar for us. Anyone else wondering if preventing that kind of fan reaction being feasible is part of the reason why we have the kit so late?
  3. If only we hadn't chosen to move away from the increasing powers of the European arrest warrants and databases that govts hadn't invested enough to make full use of. We already did full passport checks on everyone entering the country due to not being part of schengen, apart from our own agreement with Ireland. As a dishevelled slightly brownskinned student I was pulled over and searched on the euro star regularly back when I used to use it a lot. We always had control of borders. Leaving the EU risks making that kind of police cooperation harder. The underlying tone of this thread is horrible, even if the words used in the OP are fine in abstract.
  4. Yeah good point, I'd be 50/50 between the two despite Mannus being a Saints legend. Would anyone pay for him though? He'd surely only move on for free if told he wouldn't be first choice.
  5. Would only make sense if it let Clark out on loan, another banks
  6. Sorry that I've not been clear. Was only arguing with you on bosman, and that both it and work permits were possible changes rather than definite ones. Being dickishly pedantic one might say. Completely agree it will have an aspect on transfers in general, not least currency fluctuations and other league's rules as you say.
  7. Yeah, and players leave Turkish clubs on bosmans, despite it not being in the EU. So brexit is unlikely to affect the bosman ruling in smthe UK.
  8. An ecj ruling that governs the interpretation of UK laws implementing EU law and which has therefore been implemented into the UK legal order by being applied by British courts. It might be an instrument is made to undo that method of implementation but as far as I'm aware there isn't anything suggested yet. Brexit would mean we'd have the right to change it, so potential end of bosman. Unless Uefa changes drastically they'd probably sanction teams not applying bosman and possibly FAs not forcing them do. Might not be an issue for diddies not needing access to uefa tournaments but might be important for big clubs like saints
  9. Not being bound by EU law doesn't mean release from all laws that had the EU as their origin, many have been implemented into national law and now have that ad their legal source. I can't imagine the bosman ruling ceasing to apply having been the status quo for so long. As for work permits, I wouldn't be surprised to see trade deals swiftly deal with the matter, at least at that level of salary even if not to all prospective workers. Potential implications would be closer to being accurate
  10. Why would winning a cup one season make you more excited for the next? I can see what you are grasping at but I don't think the logic is sufficiently sound to make his arguments conclusively offensive
  11. Don't see much wrong with his comments today, but he has made poor ones in the past about Europe. I think there are many imperfections to him, especially PR/marketing, but unlike Andy I think these notable shortcomings fail to wipe out the good he does overall
  12. Kinda wonder if he's back as an egg with a different name
  13. I don't see the issue, its the same as the lettering that has always been on the stand, except for the missing full stop after the C
  14. Bringing the Transfers thread back up after a 5 day absence just to say you don't suffer from the widely-accepted quote complications should be a bannable offence. I thought it might be transfer news....
  15. Not with Strachan in charge - but I don't really see any realistic option that would do better. The Hungary victory over Austria was incredible to watch for how players can play above their level by being coached properly. Every player on the ball was surrounded by runners for short forward passes. Compare that to the England team where they all just drift out wide or to edge of 18 yard box and leave the team blunt. Scotland do the same due to having the same style but with far less talent. There is something broken in UK football (even largely includes English teams stack with foreign players), but I've got no idea how to fix it.
  16. I've found this tournament to be far more enjoyable than the WC 2010 which was dire apart from Chile, and no worse than 2012 - at least up until the last few days when it has tailed off a bit. Flares I can partially understand but don't condone, but bangers are pointless
  17. He said Iceland were celebrating like they'd won the EURO cup, but to me it was more like they were celebrating scoring the 4th goal in a CL final from the penalty spot. I lost on a Hungary/Portugal double, but it was worth it to see Ronaldo and Pepe suffer.
  18. Yeah I agree its unlikely to be enforced, but I think its more likely of being enforced than the Russians are to in any way punish the fans involved themselves
  19. As said pretty clearly up above, better integrating ticketing and improving other online shop aspects. Saints do a decent job of producing content but it largely goes on facebook and youtube. A new site would better integrate those for the presumable sizable amount of people who know how to get to a website but wouldn't use youtube or facebook. It's almost like you're just fishing tbh
  20. Importantly the suspended disqualification only applies to inside the stadium. They can still do whatever they want outside it, and we can't expect FIFA to act, Infantino is almost as corrupt as the old regime
  21. True, can't believe i forgot the stand-out choice. Miles ahead of Paton until Paton is an established first team player
  22. If you appoint either Midge or Muzz as captain you need to appoint another captain too for when they aren't playing. Macca would by my choice by a mile but the above might end up applying to him as well. Maybe just those three together should have it. Easton is a cracking Saints player but
  23. The French have also deported 29 Russians, so there is at least a risk that these English 'reinforcements' will, in perfect reverse of the Russians before them, find themselves fighting a myth - and shaming themselves in the process
  24. There was also the amusing post from a Russian official saying the reason that French police couldn't handle the hooligans is because they'd gone soft from policing too many gay marches. It's also been revelaed that the leader of the Zenit hooligans that threatened the club if they signed any more black players is in attendance at the Euros as an accredited member of the Russian FA. That country, in a political and civil structure sense, is broken even more so than ours.
  25. Looking forward to this one though, hoping Ireland do well.
