It was a shyte game with 2 teams that couldn't pass a ball on a perfect pitch but I think the main reason for a poor game was Collum. He stopped the play for 17 free kicks against Saints & 13 against Aberdeen in a game played like a friendly with not 1 bad tackle. I don't think he played advantage once.

The most annoying thing about Collum is that he actually is a decent referee (our semi final against Aberdeen he was excellent) he just lets his ego get in the way far too often. Agree he was awful on Thursday.

  2. Please excuse my ignorance but can anyone tell me what the Player 1/2/3 bars under the main screen are for? I logged in pre match but went to the pub to watch the game so apologies again if this became obvious during live transmission.

Hands up if you don’t have a scoobie where Kelty is.

Us Peebles Saintees pass by Kelty on the way to Perth so the answer is somewhere between Perth and Peebles just off the M90. Did we not play a  few “reserve” games there in the past.

Not sure why all the Parish criticism is necessary TBH. I didn't think he did much wrong and made a couple of good saves. He was never going to get to the first goal, and the defence let him down a bit for both the second and third goals.

Not a good result but I felt there were quite a few positives to take from the game. Our passing looks fast and crisp - it looks to me like Davidson has had us working a lot on our one-touch passing. Hendry looks stronger than last season and had another stand-out performance - once he starts knocking goals in I think we're going to find it very hard to hold onto him. McNamara I thought looked very comfortable when he moved into midfield, and Rooney looked good when he came on. Another very influential performance from Spoony too - he played a few really clever through-balls for the front players to run on to.

Conway I felt struggled with the pace of the game and I'm not sure this was the right one to start him in, but appreciate we didn't have a lot of options.

Not sure what's wrong with May but if he's fit for Saturday I'd like to see him start alongside Hendry, in front of a midfield three of Spoony, Craig and McCann.

I think the criticism of Parish is very much justified he was a bombscare all through the match. A goalie needs to make himself as big as possible especially with defenders unable to do so without giving away penalties, something which Parish did not do at all last night. The game on Saturday against Killie on the plastic would maybe be a good game to give the young lad his chance in goal.

  5. (Nicola)/Janey  Godley has got it spot on in saying football got the go ahead and football ****ed it up (through Aberdeen’s incompetence and disregard of agreements put in place). I don’t really think Saints should get awarded the game but do think Aberdeen should have a points penalty at least equivillant to what they could have gained,

No fan of OF but would it be fair or acceptable to them if we could let all our fans in & they only get 25% in.

Don’t see why it is unfair if only 25% capacity get in. Tough luck on all the clubs who can’t get all their fans be that ST’s or walk ins. If Saints and Livi are the only clubs who get all their fans in good luck to them. Perfectly acceptable and fair in my view.

  7. I will probably be accused of being a happy clapper here but................

.......could the fact that manufacturing nationwide was closed down for close on three months have something do with the fact that the new kit hasn’t been released yet?

I have had a wee think of who in the past have gone on to better things.

    Paddy Buckley to Aberdeen

    John Connolly to Everton

    Gordon Smith to Aston Villa.

    Jim Pearson to Everton

    Alex McDonsld to Rangers

    Callum Davidson to Blackburn.

    Michael O'Halloran to Rangers(debatable).

    There must be more.

Sally McCoist didn’t do too bad.
