The point you make is exactly why i would like to see something change. Our midfield, the one put together solely by TW, is not working and the guys who he brought in as cover give no better option. This is why (generally speaking) when subs are made they don't affect the outcome. We desperately need to change our style of play especially at home and try to attack more. If the midfield had players to pick out up front or in a wide position then the negativity of sideways or backward passing would be greatly reduced. I see a midfield who look frustrated every game as they are simply not being given options to play.
I also agree that we are currently going through the most successful period in our history but the signs are there that this period is coming to an end and with the squad we have it really shouldn't be.

I am not putting Saints achievements down over the last few years. What they achieved was incredible for a team with our resources. I had waited 40 years for this and when the cup win came it truly was one of the best days of my life however you have to remember that football has to be entertaining to get bums on seats and what we are producing now is, in Edstars words, turgid. If we continue to play this negative style of football, especially at home, the crowds will reduce, the season ticket sales will decrease and the team we all love will inevitably slip into the bottom half of the table. Cetrain posters can slag me off as much as they like but at this moment in time we are behind rangers and hearts (who are no great teams) and i cannot see how playing one striker up front at home with no plan B by our manager is going to get us out of this or get fans flocking back. Remember St Johnstone are a business which needs revenue and the fans are our lifeblood. The teams we have bean neaten by at home lately should never be shown such respect as to play one up front, come on Tommy lets have a go at teams at home and get the entertainment back..

If it was Stark, CLark or Lomas  in charge we would be screaming for them to be sacked, after 3 straight home defeats, against shit teams  in the bottom half.   Sort it out and keep the faith

There's no leadership on the pitch, we went a goal down and were completely lost out there. Where's the fight or determination to grind stuff out in games? We don't have that anymore without Davidson in the middle.
For me, Anderson isn't a captain.
I don't know what is going on in Wotherspoons head because he is a complete shadow of the player he can be, he shouldn't be near the middle of the park. Just a massive liability.
It's a damn good job we have Swanson in the team because we'd be in a spot of bother without him.
Any word on Zander? And while we on about Zander, is it just me or has he stopped coming for crosses?

Utterly bizarre that we can't get a player in our own shite international squad, whilst our reserve goalie (no disrespect intended) is set to PLAY for a different, fairly decent international team.

On the back of the BBC Scotland  "Great Military Charity Scandal" documentary this evening, I think the vagueness of the club's statement last week surrounding auctioning football shirts for an "Armed Forces Charity" should be a multi layered concern for all St Johnstone fans.

We've now conceded 6 goals, in the last five minutes of matches.
v Celtic (4-2), no points lost
    v ICT (2-1), cost us a point
v Aberdeen (1-0), put us out the cup
v Dundee (2-1), cost us no points
    v Partick (2-1), cost us a point
    v Hearts (2-2), cost us a win

Without them we would've been four points better off, and two points clear in second.

Another set piece goal against. Someone needs to take control when facing set pieces. Whether it's the gk or Ando doesn't matter but this has happened too often recently.
Decent  point but feels a bit like a defeat.

FIFA's rules on this are actually pretty clear:
"Equipment must not have any political, religious or personal slogans, statements or images.
Players must not reveal undergarments that show political, religious, personal slogans, statements or images, or advertising other than the manufacturer's logo.
For any infringement the player and/or the team will be sanctioned by the competition organiser, national football association or to be justified by Fifa."

Don't think there can really be any doubt that Poppies are covered by the above. And I still say the FA and SFA are only making a fuss about this because they want to be seen to do so in the eyes of the knee-jerk tabloids and the poppy bullies. Let's not kid ourselves that these football associations are doing this because they care deeply about the issue and have suddenly sprouted some sort of social conscience.

The current Poppy situation is close to heartbreaking.  What I used to wear was a symbol of     rememberance for those who fell in Flanders fields and against the tyranny of Fascism and Nazism.  To see its symbol now become intensely politicised to the point that some veterans no longer wear it is so sad.  It is now a tool used by many to meet their own political agendas, prime candidates being the Conservative government along with others. The poppy fascism that permeates across the country these days is one of the deepest ironies of the 21st century.
Solely a 2 minute silence seems far more dignified and suffice.  Poorly thought out SFA.

It is absolutely a political statement, and Stewart Regan is no more obliged to wear a poppy than he is to wear an Aids ribbon or a Red Nose or a Lance Armstrong wristband. It's his choice, just like it should be the choice of footballers to decide whether they want to support this particular charity, or any other, in their own free time when they're not on a football pitch. What difference does it make whether this "mark of remembrance" is displayed during a football match where the only thing on anyone's minds will be the football match? It's absolutely crazy.
If FIFA were to allow this then they would have to allow all sorts of nonsense, and frankly I find it incredible that Scotland and England think they can get away with this when Saints had the book thrown at them by UEFA for one fan displaying a perfectly legitimate flag.

It's a pile of pish, this poppy nonsense. I used to wear a poppy every year, but not any more, since now apparently if you don't you are disrespecting the war dead, a flag burner and probably a communist. The whole thing has been hijacked by the usual Daily Mail suspects. Those lads died for us to have the right to decide for ourselves whether to eg wear poppies, not to be bullied into conforming with British Nationalist rules. I'd have far more respect for the SFA if they stood up against the Poppy Nazis than bloody FIFA.The Irish lad McClean that refuses to wear one because his family were victims of British army atrocities - fairly understandable - gets pelters every week.
Far more concerning is the fact that we have to play at Wembley in fecking pink shirts.

Add Kane to that also. Good strikers for say a QOS or a Falkirk but not top 6 quality at the moment sadly. Strikers give you lots of additional aspects to their game these days, however at the heart of it has to be putting the ball in the net.

That was a dreadful team performance. We were totally flat, no attacking fluency in midfield. Thistle certainly know how to play against us and their 3-5-2 formation worked a treat, they deserved the three points. Whilst I agree that the strikers need the service, we need a cutting edge up front. Kane especially offers very little - back to goal all the time. Simply cannot see a future for him as a top league striker.
Going second would have been fantastic of course, but would have disguised our current lack of creativity. Thistle and Killie defenders have had an easy time of it of late in Perth. Liam guilty of giving away free kick for first and mucking about for the second. Onwards to The 'Burgh.
