  1. An amazing stat is that according to FBREF both Drey Wright and Shaun Rooney have exactly the same number of assists for Saints in the league! Drey Wright 2550 league minutes played 1 Goal 1 Assist Shaun Rooney 3731 league minutes played 3 Goals 1 Assist
  2. Must admit that I am pretty disappointed at the lack of at least one signing, as I can’t imagine the club loses that much from the Euro campaign seeing as they get money from UEFA just for taking part. Mind you, I have no idea how much it costs to charter a plane these days!! UEFA Europa League Prize Money Distribution 2014 #NO Stages Earnings 1 First Qualifying round €120,000 2 Second Qualifying round €130,000 3 Third Qualifying round €140,000 4 Play-off round elimination €150,000 5 Base fee for group stage €1,300,000 6 Group match victory €200,000 7 Group match draw €100,000 8 Group winners €400,000 9 Group runners-up €200,000 10 Round of 32 €200,000 11 Round of 16 €350,000 12 Quarter-finals €450,000 13 Semi-finals €1,000,000 14 Losing finalist €2,500,000 15 Winners €5,000,000
  3. For those asking about the amount the SFA take out, money.which I believe they use to help fund all the coaching initiatives and other things etc. Took me 2 mins to find on the SFA website and seems pretty clear cut to me - the only variable is the charge for Celtic Park. Had there been any other changes, Saints would have known about them as it would have been brought up at the AGM. (g) The receipts from the Semi-Final matches in the Competition shall be pooled and shall be deemed to include monies received from all admission charges to the matches, radio and television fees, and any sums in respect of advertising within the stadium specially for the occasion. The Scottish FA shall retain 10% of the balance, after payment of the expenses of the two matches and the clubs’ guarantees. The remainder, after payment of the rental for the use of a ground or grounds, the scale of which shall be determined by the Board, shall be divided, equally, among the four clubs. (h) The receipts at the Final Tie shall be calculated in the manner defined in section (g) foresaid mutatis mutandis. The Scottish FA shall retain 10% of the balance, after payment of the expenses of the match and the clubs’ guarantees. The remainder, after payment of the rental for the use of the ground, the scale of which shall be determined by the Board, shall be divided, equally, between the competing clubs. 42. Alterations and Additions to Rules (a) The Board shall have the power to temporarily suspend, amend or add to these Rules as circumstances may dictate from time to time, as it deems appropriate in its reasonable discretion, to facilitate the smooth running of the Competition, or in order to ensure that the Scottish FA is capable of meeting the commitments put upon it under the terms of its television and sponsorship contracts. Subject to the foregoing, alterations or additions may only be made at the Annual General Meeting of the Scottish FA.

    Fifa 13

A patch/update was due out this weekend to fix several issues with the game but it has now been delayed: We apologize for a delay in the FIFA 13 Title Update. A knock-on issue was detected in the patch planned for this weekend so it was held. We’re working with our partners to establish a new schedule for the update and we will provide information as soon as it becomes available. Update details include: ■Connection stability in Online Seasons when finding an opponent in the Arena, and at kick-off. ■Career Mode freeze while starting a new career with free agents. ■Career Mode hangs when using Game Face. ■Stability in Career Mode when players retire or are being bought back from loan. ■Users will no longer be able to lower difficulty settings in a FUT Seasons match. ■Freeze in FUT Online Tournament HUB on PS3. ■Napoli of Serie A will now have fully authentic kits and crests in FIFA and FIFA Ultimate Team. ■Legacy defending and passing assistance options removed in Pro Clubs. ■Freeze in Pro Clubs Results screen. ■Matchmaking settings in Pro Clubs (with "ANY" and "Match Keeper") will provide the desired results. ■Changes made in National Squad not properly reflected in Manager Mode screen. ■(PC Only) Freeze while retrieving Hospitality Settings.
  5. Rhodes is actually my joint 2nd (with Roy Baines) favourite keeper of all time.... Balavage being number one!! That Thistle game is one of favs as well.... one of the most surreal atmospheres ever, as we were all just waiting for Roddy to score and he bagged a hat-trick!! By the time the third went in, most Saints fans were giving it "Roddy!!"
  6. I think you are doing Jim Jeffries a disservice Soulful by implying that he wouldn't care or give 100% and that we would just be a footnote on his cv. The difference is we are now an SPL team and we cannot afford to have a rookie manager that will make basic mistakes or someone from outwith who will bring in crap signings from England/Ireland etc like big Herman Munster did. Even McInnes was still making errors... having seven forwards on the book and two first team quality keepers, which let's be honest, the club can't really afford. I think whoever comes in, is going to have a pretty tough year ahead of them as we try to balance the books and potentially lose a lot of players who are out of contract at the end of season (the biggest drawback of all these one year contracts). Will Jody, Encks etc want to stay if a total novice comes in that doesn't have the respect or profile of an established name. Of course let's be honest picking any manager is a total lottery and there is no sure fire route to success - if there was, there wouldn't be so many of them looking for a job!! The other worry for me is that we have known this was (probably) coming for ages and yet the board do not seemed to have planned for it. I would have thought they would have had a preplanned list made up of potential candidates drawn up, especially after Brentford came calling. Maybe they did and Cook was Plan A but what about a Plan B?
  7. Must admit, having thought about this for a week now, I reckon we should give the job to an old and steady hand like Jim Jeffries. As has been mentioned, I'm worried that we will suffer the Sandy Clark syndrome of a new young manager doing well then it all going belly up once his signings start. In the next year the squad will probably change quite a bit as I expect us to lose a lot of our current squad at the end of the season (through cost cutting and players leaving), so I think we need someone to come in and keep the ship steady and afloat and Jeffries for me ticks all the right boxes.
  8. Hate to be pedantic but Roddy left us for Dunfermline, as part of the swap deal for Andy Rhodes. And by all accounts, he didn't really have much choice, as he had been told that he wasn't going to be a first team regular anymore.
  9. Interesting quote from Jody about Steve Brown from todays BBC site: "I'm pencilled in to see him. What that will entail I don't know yet. He's asked to see me and we'll see what he has to say, whether he wants to talk to me about this job or whatever." Job offer, new contract or maybe just asking for his thoughts?
  10. Stephen Craigan for me.... as long as he promises not to play!!
  11. When I heard that he had finally decided to stop playing!! Seriously though, the first season back in the SPL. With an attacking mindset, a great team spirit and a never say die attitude, we saw plenty of goals and some great games.
  12. Stephen Craigan for me.... as long as he promises not to play!!
  13. I actually have some sympathy for Whyte as I do feel that certain people and especially some in the media have an agenda. Saw a good post on the BBC that conveys what I think: "I'm sure you'll mention the ban due to the up and coming documentary on Craig Whyte. If only we'd had these investigative reports from the BBC into the way David Murray was running the club 7 or 8 years ago perhaps we would not be in this mess? I' concerned about what is going on and want more transaprency from Craig Whyte but I find it strange that he is being hounded more in the last 5 months about his running of the club than David Murray (the man who ultimately created the mess) was in his 20-odd years in charge. Perhaps he is not as close to certain BBC pundits as David Murray clearly was?"
  14. Spoke to Roddy Grant today, who told me it's a two horse race.... unfortunately, he wouldn't tell me who the horses were, although he did rule himself out!!
  15. Will this be Geoff Brown's legacy, a near empty stadium with only three stands? The whole idea for me should be a non-starter. Firstly, I can believe this is even being talked about when there aren't even any artist's impressions of how it will look etc - totall unprofessional by everyone involved. Especially when you read that the "new road would lead around the rear of the East Stand before curving around the rear of the North Stand, which would have to go". Just how much land are we talking about giving up? If we want to cut our cloth and downsize, then we should look to sell up completely and move to a smaller site with a much reduced capacity (and hopefully a standing area). The idea of switching stands again for big games would be crazy - hasn't the club learned anything?? It starts with just the old firm, then it's oh Hearts/Hibs/Aberdeen/United are doing well or it's a big cup game and eventually we will be in the Main Stand permanently or until we decide to knock the East Stand down and sell the ground on that side for housing!! Anyway, all me a cynic but I'm guessing there will be something in this for Geoff Brown, after all one of the main purposes of the road will be to help link the three new villages that are earmarked for being built on the outskirts of the city. Hmm... I wonder which local firm would be interested in building houses out there??!!
