  1. I think it might be worthwhile for Callum to apportion some of the blame to his defenders who defended incredibly poorly for the corner which actually led directly to the goal. I find his post-match quotes pretty disappointing. Eetu wasn't great this evening, but few were. It feels like he is being scapegoated.
  2. He is literally playing in a match for St Johnstone as we speak.
  3. Viv’s only here til January though… Two wide options wouldn’t be a satisfactory amount for any squad.
  4. He’s the 4/1 favourite to be the first home goalscorer on SkyBet.
  5. Both, in a sense. We use wingers as advanced wide forwards, ahead of the wing backs, when we play the 5-2-3/3-4-3 formation. The role of the traditional 'winger' seems to be becoming a bit less common in modern football.
  6. ‘What our game is all about’ has clearly not been working for the past few months and it shows no signs of improvement. For me, it’s time to rip that up and try something else. If this involves fielding one or two luxury players, then so be it.
  7. If you’d like to journey back in time and tell us the names of the many many provincial teams who have won the double, that would be much appreciated.
  8. Ambrose was BBC’s MoM, but the player of the match ratings are public votes and not decided by BBC.
  9. Rooney wasn’t playing as a CD. He was at RWB. Brown was on the right of the central three.
  10. He's not an emergency loan, nor is he from London. A really really good post otherwise.
  11. Can’t find anyone on Transfermarkt who matches the description and is taller than Efe Ambrose, to be honest. He’s a big guy.
  12. Not sure about the police declining to mount a full investigation, but anyway, that's besides the point. Griffiths is no doubt an imbecilic individual, but he's not that thick. Police weren't able to convict him because he got around the issue on a technicality. Anyone who has seen the screenshots will know 100% that he is guilty, but the method he used to converse with the underage girl was a clear way of finding a loophole in the system. Just like anyone else who has seen the messages, the police will know he's guilty. They can't do anything about it though. Doesn't stop him being guilty. Saying things like 'she looked like she was in her early 20s' ironically does a lot more to tarnish the reputation of this forum than calling out such behaviours in the first place.
  13. I think it’s quite clear? Somebody understandably criticises a current footballer for racism and paedophilia, and the general response is purely concern that the forum might get ‘censored’ for some reason, despite the information being readily accessible in the public domain. Somebody buries their head in the sand in regards to racism and then attempts to justify paedophilia by saying that the girl ‘looked in her early 20s’, and his post gets multiple ‘likes’ for it. Absolutely bizarre.
  14. It’s honestly extremely concerning to see the posts which older posters deem acceptable on here and the ones which they don’t. Are we really that out of touch with reality?
  15. I find it a bit bizarre. Are we going to censor the BBC, every other Scottish football messageboard, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and the national newspapers as well?
  16. Looking at their group, I’m pretty sure they will reach the knockouts. They’re not outstanding but they are top seeds and it makes their progress significantly easier.
  17. LASK only made three changes from Thursday, so not too different from ourselves thankfully. But I agree, Callum got it wrong today. Nobody was expecting a strong line-up. Nobody would have been disappointed with a weakened line-up. Nobody would have been upset if that weakened line-up dropped points. Callum had a free hit today and he needlessly chose to forgo it.
  18. I’m not talking about all-out attack. I just think we were missing an attacking outlet to allow the ball to stick whilst in potentially progressive situations. Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy with the performance, but I personally would have stuck with the same shape which worked away from home, with May replacing the absent Spoony on the left and MOH playing wider on the right, so the wing-backs had more attacking players to link up with when advancing forward.
  19. Attack can be the best form of defence. Because we weren’t playing with wide forwards, there was more pressure on our wing-backs to get forward. However, yesterday’s WB selections (particularly on the right) are more comfortable defensively and didn’t have a great deal of support when getting forward. Because we had no real attacking outlet on either side of the pitch, our defence was under constant pressure. Our central midfield was never going to compete with theirs in terms of retaining the ball.
  20. LASK maybe don’t possess the ‘fear factor’ that a team like Galatasaray do, based purely on the Turks’ star names and size of their club. Having said that, LASK’s more recent European results would suggest that they are currently a better team.
  21. Spare concession ticket available in the Ormond if anyone is looking and able to contact me before 4pm.
  22. Hello people, my old man is feeling under the weather today and has unfortunately pulled out as he doesn't think he'll be able to hack it, so I'm offering a concession ticket for the Ormond Stand if anybody is interested. Alternatively, if anyone with a single East Stand ticket would like to give me that in exchange for one adult AND one concession ticket for the Ormond Stand, I'd also accept that offer if you sent me the £15 difference.
  23. Can’t see us going for another centre-back after signing Muller (unless any of our first-choice CBs are sold). One striker and one wide option (possibly two wide options considering the departures of Middleton and Conway) and we should be done.
  24. No, I'm talking about the significance of the number 32 in relation to our cup exploits last season. Maybe a lucky charm.
