  1. A similar performance to Tuesday should help get Jackie the sack. Fisher back in if he's available but wouldn't mind if the same line up started.
  2. I haven't posted for ages, but I've been following this thread over the piece, and it's interesting to get people's developing views on the situation. This whole continuing fiasco and the attempts by a corrupt and blatantly biased Scottish football governing body to resurrect this awful club, that should have been made sure were dead and buried for the good of society in Scotland let alone football, are the main reasons I decided to leave Scottish football behind me after our cup win. I guess a lot of people follow Twitter here as well - the mentality displayed there amongst the morass that follow this hideous entity are *seriously* screwed up people. Regular aggressive statements containing the likes of "when we regain our rightful place, our enemies will pay" and "our footsoldiers will never forget those who crossed us" (I'm not making this stuff up!) are negative, threatening and extremely sinister. Just *who* are they going to "take revenge" on, and what form do they think that will take??!! It's utter madness, and I for one want no part of that. The sad thing is that it's something that the collective *can* change if they wanted to and acted as one - but the will just isn't there it seems. Unfortunately, this former regular home-and-away fan has been lost to the game here until it fundamentally does change. Saints will always be *my* club and I do continue to look out for our results, but I utterly refuse to put any more money into a Scottish football machine which simply perpetuates garbage like this, particularly when it has such huge knock on effects into our nation and its people as a whole.
  3. Ok...first paragraph which contains the article's third sentence is a hypothetical scenario. For reference, I used New Zealand as an example of the already independent nation. Then I used an independent Scotland and reached the same conclusion. I then imagined myself as still living in England and applied the same, and guess what - same conclusion. Which part of it do you disagree with or think is a "glaring error"?
  4. An interesting article in The Guardian here Food for thought for the No camp...
  5. Just a thought...but... Aren't the fixtures the copyrighted "property" of the SPFL? Could be that the clubs involved only have the right to display them within certain time frames. The BBC and other media who have already published them may already have paid for the right to do that.
  6. Gotta hold on to that thought when looking at the 'Tic crowd next time we play them... Hail, Hail, the retarded rocking horses are here...
  7. Come on, that's a bit mean-spirited Scobby. Everyone's excited and looking forward to Saturday - go with the flow... ;-)
  8. Never felt lower than the day at Hamilton we lost the league to Gr**na. Although we won, their injury time goal made it feel like a horsing.
  9. Personally, I'm travelling to the final on the bus with the rest of the Dunfermline Saints, but we will also have 3 Greek colleagues of mine (all Olympiakos fans) swelling our ranks. They are not coming from Athens...they all live in Edinburgh! First question they asked me when I asked them if they wanted to come was "Can we bring some flares??" Err...sorry lads, this is Scottish football!!
  10. Attending: Yes - me plus 6 Ticket purchased: Yes Mode of transport: Bus from Dunfermline Pre match plans: Don't know yet Score prediction: Don't want to tempt fate but I just have a feeling that Steven Maclean will score...
  11. May - enough said MacLean - one of the best players I've ever seen play for Saints Anderson - one of the best ball players at the club when he keeps the head (and a thoroughly nice guy!) Mannus - best keeper in the league IMO O'Halloran - really exciting prospect - love the quick feet!
  12. Thomson in particular likes to make it "Me, me, me! It's all about ME!" He'll be horse for both sides.
  13. Slightly OT I know, but I always wonder about the "why" when statements like this are made. Just why would these three "playing at the top of their level" make for a better league? Is it because they are better supported or historically have been more successful and are seen as "bigger" clubs? Villareal or Parma were never as well supported clubs, and didn't have the history, when compared to Barca, Real, AC Milan or Juve, yet both of these smaller clubs did their respective countries proud when they were winning things, and particularly well in Europe (ok, Parma were the Gretna of Italy I suppose, and their star has waned a bit since) The point is that the likes of Saints and Inverness are playing better football than any of these three at the moment (and again there are different circumstances...Two of them have been the architects of their own demise, and Hibs really are just sh!t) Surely it doesn't matter who's playing the good football as long as it's being played?? A bewildering comment from a Scotland manager, who you would assume looks for the best talent whichever club it plays for. Sad, but I guess we shouldn't be surprised - after all this is a guy who picks a defender from the third tier of Scottish football in his squads, for no other reason as he's a "token" to placate one side of Glasgow.
  14. It's going to be some finish... Some drama... It might come here... McLean... To May... Lovely touch from MAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!! Classic! I know it off by heart . Don't ask me to recite Billy Dodds' pundit comments immediately after it - I learned that as well!
  15. Nice try OP, but not very practical from the point of view of income for the club. Lochwinnochsaintee's is the better idea. Ticket stubs from the semi count as priority, plus they need to be handing out a voucher at Saturday's game to supporters who go for the same reason.
