  1. in my meagre defense, i probably agree more rather than less, with abernethy , than some of the rabid right wingers on here. i make no excuses for voting remain, and changing my allegiance after brexit. im not a nat, not a brit. party politics are fecked. vote on the issues
  2. its no wonder the regular man (or woman) in the street is disengaging with mainstream politics when all we get from all sides is a lenghty unreadable diatribe that only their opposition has the time or inclination to read through. im not asking for voxpox, but anything rather than blah blah blah
  3. almost half the posts on this thread prove that deomcracy doesnt work. When the lunatics are given an equal say of how the assylum is run, we're in trouble.
  4. i feel your pain abernethy, as a one time economics undergrad. the old anecdote used to be about tesco knowing someone was pregnant, before the father, based purely on buying habits. Add in the meta data thats freely thrown around on social media, its no surprise multinationals could base their value on data rather than sales.

  7. if were going down the maths route, lets wait until weve had 268,435,456 cup draws before drawing any conclusions! if we;re going down the conspiracy theory route, it looks well dodgy. if we're going down the sfa route - we know its all dodgy

Its been a while, and maybe you should refresh your post. At no point did i say anything derogatory about the folk who lived in the likes of letham or tulloch. i made no reference to them having no disposable income, not owning their own homes, not being able to eat out, or bizarrely having a rubbish strewn garden. I dont think i commented on the residents of those estates at all. I simply pointed out most folk would , if given a chance, prefer to live in a nicer neighbourhood. Thats not snobbishness narrowminded or judgemental, its reality.

sam, im not sure which of my posts you are referring too? i said the cherrybank was bordering residential areas where there was enough residual income to make a pub a going concern - that point you seemed to agree with so i'll assume it moot The 208, IS a disgrace of a pub, has been since the 80s, and without serious investment is never anywhere anyone would stop into unless on their way to McD Park. Finally, i actually referred to letham and tulloch as "shite", i know noone whod rather live there than say, kinnoull hill ?

not sure where cagey lives, but the average house price in the uk these days is knocking on 200k. its hardly decedant living. japanese style 100+ year mortgages cant be far off. God bless MaggieT, and all who profitted under her

the cherrybank is on the borderline of the W.Edge where there is a lot more disposable income compared to letham/tulloch. i know which location id rather open a pub.....

lets be honest, its a shite pub in a shite part of the town. handy for a pint on saturday afternoon on the way to a match. Is there anyone would take their other half, or their mum, there for a drink or a meal? pubs, like every other business, have to check whether they are still relevant to the community.
  13. little englanders are going to force the uk out of europe, which will trigger the breakup of the unon - much instability ahead. id cash in on your house value sooner rather than later (ive been reading the dailymail so maybe ill invest in antizombie weapons too)
  14. arent we all still technically subjects to HM? unless Athens youre admitting to be one of johnny-come-latelys who had to pass the citizen test?
